We were very proud to welcome so many young golfers again for the Stephen Gallacher Foundation event at Pumpherston GC yesterday. This is a great junior golf opportunity that we welcome to the club each year as part of the foundation's series of strokeplay and Chase the Flag events.

A wet day but the rain held off for the most part while the players made their way round the course.

The day got even better for our visiting player Ben Middleton from Glencorse Golf Club with an ace on the 4th hole 'Lookabootye' (par 3). Congratulations Ben! That's going to be a day to remember forever.

We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Stephen Gallacher Foundation and First Tee for years to come.

Pumpherston Golf Club Silloth 15th & 16th August.
We will be open for breakfast from 7:30am.
BBQ will start at approx 9:45am and will be situated near the 10th tee.
Pop by and grab a burger 🍔 or hot dog 🌭 for £5 😍.
Our Silloth Menu for the day is below. We will be open until the last group is finished so everyone gets a chance for a bite to eat after their round.

Our Junior Team are out on the course for their first 'away' friendly match at Linlithgow Golf Club this evening. Our Junior Convenor has claimed the best seat in the house to watch some play before catching up with the teams out on the course.

Our third match in the past few weeks. Two 4-4 draws so far with lots of enjoyable golf and great interaction between players from different clubs.

Terrific to see a strong showing with eight players representing Pumpherston GC in all three matches so far.

As these are friendlies, we are not selecting players. Any player with a handicap who has signed up to play gets to participate.

We're trying to build a strong evidence base of lots of inter-club friendlies to show that Linlithgowshire Golf Association is hopefully ready for the re-launch of a Junior League.

Members and visitors are all very welcome to enter a team — male, female or mixed teams of 4 for a Mexican Scramble.

It promises to be a brilliant day, with sponsored holes around the course, halfway house, bar and catering throughout the day.

Most importantly, we'll be raising money for Edinburgh Children's Hospital and Jak's Den, chosen by Pumpherston Golf Club.

⛳ We're Hiring – Greenkeeper / Trainee Greenkeeper 🌿

Pumpherston Golf Club is looking for a motivated individual to join our dedicated greenkeeping team.

Located just 10 miles west of Edinburgh, Pumpherston is recognised as one of West Lothian's finest parkland courses, featuring an 18-hole course and extensive practice facilities.

Whether you're a fully qualified Greenkeeper or looking to start and develop a career in turf management, we'd love to hear from you. Reporting directly to the Head Greenkeeper, this is a permanent, full-time position with full support for training and career progression.

What we're looking for:
✅ Qualified candidates with an SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Greenkeeping/Sports Turf (or equivalent) and relevant experience.
✅ Or enthusiastic trainees with a strong work ethic, who enjoy working outdoors and are keen to gain formal SVQ qualifications (training provided).
✅ Full UK driving licence.
✅ Flexibility to work weekends on a rota basis.
✅ PA1, PA2A or PA6 spraying certifications are desirable, but not essential.
