JUST HAVE FUN🥳☀️

So many of my team have been on holiday, are on holiday or are about to go on holiday, and I’m so buzzing for it.🤩

I love hearing all about the different places visited, what they’ve been up to and that they’ve all had amazing times.✈️

BUT every year in the lead up to 90% of client holidays I have found myself having the same conversations.📅

They start trying to explain or justify food, activity or lack of, drink, whatever it is, while they’re away.🍹

And that’s without even having packed yet, never mind actually leaving.🧳

HOWEVER, when they come home their mindset and attitude is always very different.

Any time this has happened we have had a quick chat about what a holiday actually is.

It’s a chance to escape every day life for many people, to relax, to have fun, and whatever all of that looks like is exactly what I tell them all to do.🧘‍♂️

You work hard the majority of the year, so when these chances arise you need to take advantage of them.

And thanks to the work my team put in when they are here, they make sure and enjoy themselves to the fullest, and most of the time, with minimal regression from where they were before they left.

You’re not going to undo all your hard work throughout the year in 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks or even a month. So don’t stress.

Life is about balance, don’t forget that, and enjoy yourself.

AND WE’RE BACK🦵

Thursday I got stuck back into my training with a light leg day and my legs are still killing me.

Why am I telling you this?🤷‍♂️

1️⃣ It’s important to remember to be sensible when you restart training after time off. Don’t dive straight back into lifting how you were before.

2️⃣ It’s okay to take time off training. You best believe I did no “proper” training when I was on holiday.

3️⃣ Some extra muscle soreness after taking a break is normal. The muscles haven’t been working in the same way your training works them. But don’t worry it won’t be as bad as the first time you started training.

4️⃣ I’m normal just like all of you. I take time away from training, I get sore, I struggle through sessions, I have to lift lighter.

If you want an approach to training and fat loss that allows you to drink wine, eat chocolate, take time away from the gym, go on holiday and HAVE FUN and still be guaranteed results then slide into my DMs before Monday 12pm to get started this month.

Speak to you all soon

TURKEY, IT WAS A PLEASURE 🇹🇷☀️

And just like that my first sunshine holiday in 3 years is over.

I put a lot of work in and hard training over the last 6 months to get both myself and my business holiday ready.

And it was all well worth it.

I LOVE getting away and visiting new countries, getting some sun, and relaxing with the best people.

And turkey didn’t disappoint.

There was lots of laughs, lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of great people and lots of tanning. And made all the better thanks to

Over the last 10 days, I didn’t think about training, didn’t track food, didn’t restrict or tell myself I couldn’t have anything.

You work hard and train hard so that you can enjoy the fine things in life.

And I ensure that my team build on that approach as it then helps them stay motivated and on track day to day.

And most importantly, when they do get to have fun, they do it guilt free.

CLIENT GROWTH

It’s a year ago next week since Ross and I first ever spoke in the gym, and what a journey it’s been so far.

Ross was visiting the gym for the first time and I offered to show him around.

We got chatting about why he’d signed up and what he was looking to achieve and I was desperate to help him from the get go.

I could tell what it meant to him to lose weight, gain confidence and learn more about how to train in the gym. And it reminded me a lot of the first time I joined the gym.

He’s gone from strength to strength in the last year. Smashing any target or challenge in his way and I know there’s going to be a lot more to come too.

Ross used to find the leg press terrifying, and now he quite happily batters out 8 reps of 300+kg on the regular. Just one of his many wins.

Well done sir!!!!

And if I can make it, then so can you.

This low calorie curry is delicious and filling.

Give it a bash and see what you think.

DRINK INSTEAD OF EATING

Right, don’t actually do it instead of eating. Well not always.

When I speak with anybody looking to lose weight and they say that it’s eating they struggle with and that they’re hungry ALL the time then one of the first questions I ask them is…

“How much water do you drink?”

It’s not as random as it sounds.

Our body NEEDS water. And we get a lot of that from the food we eat.

So it’s little surprise that the same part of the brain that tells us we are thirsty tells us we are hungry.

These same people always say that they barely ever drink water.

If you can increase your water intake daily, minimum of 2 litres per day, then you’ll find you’re less hungry and feel fuller for longer, meaning you’ll lower your calorie intake instantly, creating the opportunity for a greater calorie deficit, and simpler and greater fat loss.

WHAT AM I UP TO?🧐

Here’s a list of potential excuses not to train….

I’ve had a recurring back injury.

My legs have been struggling with an increased number of classes and activities almost every day.

I’ve had more social plans than I know how to keep up with.

And I’m busier with work.

BUT NONE OF THEM ARE EXCUSES.

All of this combined has led to a switch up in my training.

I was taking 2ish hours per workout previously, 4/5 times a week, using pyramid training which meant I was working with some heavy weight rep ranges.

With summer approaching I didn’t want to sacrifice my training for a prolonged time, so I switched it up.

I’ve condensed my weight training into 5 short sessions per week, taking around 40-60 minutes each, with lighter weights but higher reps and ensured I get at least 30 minutes of cardio per day. This can be classes, walking or HIIT sessions.

This means I can squeeze training into smaller gaps. I can preserve my injury and include specific exercises to help aid recovery. And I can still feel and look great when we reach summer.

Don’t make excuses!

Make results!!!
