Our second of three levellers this morning at Hightown against familiar opposition in Formby Wanderers.

The game started tensely as both teams caused problems for the oppositions backline. Some truly brilliant goalkeeping from the Formby Wanderers keeper ensured the scores stayed level as Lilia, Wren and Autumn all came close to breaking the deadlock.

The second half was a little more open. Our girls started to find their passing rhythm and the chances soon followed. Our first came from a Formby Wanderers corner. A perfectly executed counter attack saw Emily break forwards, beat a player and play a perfectly weighted through ball for Wren who kept her composure to smash the ball into the roof of the net. Emily was brimming with confidence after that and it wasn’t long before her sensational roulette on the edge of the oppositions box created space for Teal who opened up her body and found the far corner. Some late Formby pressure almost forced a nervy end to proceedings but our resolute defence stood strong once again, with a little help from the crossbar.

Another brilliant team performance mixed with some moments of individual magic, often needed to win games against this level of opposition.

Our girls returned to Hightown this morning with Maghull Blue the first of our 3 opponents in the ‘levellers’.

The game was a closely contested one with early chances at either end. A couple of reactionary saves from Nina being required to keep the scoreline level. The breakthrough did come, however. Bella playing a one-two with Lilia off of a kick in before slotting the ball in at the near post from the angle for our first goal of the season. Some excellent saves from the Maghull Blue keeper and some narrow misses ended out what was a closely fought first half.

The second half brought more of the same. Plenty of excellent passing and ball movement and plenty of excellent opportunities. Wren took the next one. A kick in from Autumn left Wren one on one with her defender by the byline, a sharp turn, great strength and an emphatic finish into the far side netting gave the keeper no chance. Another lovely team move saw Lilia lay the ball off to Bella who found Teal just outside the box. An excellently placed low finish rounded off an excellent team performance against tough opposition on the opening weekend!

Our girls returned to the Southport and Birkdale Memorial Cup this afternoon, managing to go one step further than we did last year against the boys teams and win the Europa League final! Two superb strikes from Lilia in the final got the job done after a superb set of group game showings featuring some incredible saves from Lyla and some truly unbelievable goals from Bella, Teal, and Emily.

A special mention has to go to Emily who was absolutely unplayable all afternoon, winning herself the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award. A curling effort in the group stage and a truly ridiculous, last man, goal saving slide tackle were the highlights of her incredible afternoon.

We are so proud to support such a wonderful cause. Thank you to for the invite and for a fantastic tournament!

What. A. Day.

Yesterday our girls had the privilege of going to St George’s Park, home of the England national teams, to compete in the All Star Super Cup! We took on teams from all over the country and it’s safe to say the level of talent on display was incredibly high! Our girls did us proud, playing football our way and scoring some excellent goals on the same pitches where Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Alessia Russo, and Chloe Kelly have done the same! We made memories to last a lifetime yesterday, it’s the sort of things dreams are made of!

Thankyou to and for getting us a coach to St George’s, being able to travel down altogether really added to the experience for the girls, parents, and coaches alike. We’re so incredibly lucky to be involved in such a wonderful group 💛

Another worthwhile pre-season runout as our girls took on Southport Athletic White Boys U10s tonight at Ferryside. Some excellent football on display from both sides as Wren, Emily and Teal were all on the scoresheet. Bring on Saturday!

WE’REEEEEE BACKKKKKKK!!!

After a few weeks of well earned R&R we kickstarted our pre-season campaign with a friendly against Formby Wanderers.

Both teams played out a fantastic game filled with some great goals. A slow start was almost recovered by well taken goals from Wren and Bella early on in the second half but it just wasn’t to be this morning.

The inaugural Hopes Help Cup took place at Haig Ave yesterday as our girls came together to support an unbelievable cause and have some fun in the sun.

Our sponsors Hopes Help support children, families and local community projects across Sefton and the North West and we are so proud to wear Hope’s name on our shirts. The Hope’s Help Cup is a way of giving back just a fraction of the incredible support they show our girls and our community and we are incredibly grateful for them. 💛

Thankyou to everybody who came and supported us or got involved, it means the world! Think it’s fair to say our girls had a pretty good time. 🤣💛

12 months ago, these girls turned up to one of our Wildcats sessions, most of them didn’t know each other and some of them had never even kicked a ball before.

Today, they finished runners up in the Premier Division at Hightown, competing against some of the very best U10s teams in the North West of England.

Goals from:
Teal ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Autumn ⚽️
Wren ⚽️
Violet ⚽️
Olivia ⚽️

Gave us the result we needed over a dangerous MSB Comets side to secure second place on head to head record.

We are so incredibly proud of this group of amazing girls. The progress they’ve made over the last year has defied belief, all down to their incredible work rates, attitude and self belief. They’re all incredibly talented individuals that have come together to make the best possible team, on and off the pitch and we’re so excited to see what the next 12 months will bring!

See you in September, Hightown! 🫡💛

Our penultimate weekend at Hightown this season saw us face familiar opposition in Quarry Green in a friendly.

Our best moment of the game started with Nina from a goal kick as her short lay off to Wren allowed our centre half to play an excellent ball up to Olivia up front who controlled and laid the ball off for Lilia to run onto and sweep the ball into the corner. A superb goal that shows exactly how we want the girls to be playing!

Quarry Green were excellent this morning though, a tough test for our girls, as always, against one of the very best teams in the area.

Fantastic game of football at Hightown between Remyca and Southport U10s last night.

An evenly contested match with some great saves from both keepers.

Remyca took the lead early on with a well taken goal from their winger. Southport equalised through Teal who tapped in after Bella’s fantastic long range effort which was pushed onto the post by the Remyca keeper. Just on half time Remyca scored one of the goals of the season from a very well worked corner which was volleyed into the top corner leaving Nina with no chance.

The second half was goalless with both keepers continuing to make more great saves until the last 5 minutes where Wren found herself through on goal twice, keeping her cool on both occasions to score two great goals.
