The Balancing Crow

On our visit to Dublin, I had to go & see the statue of Cú Chulainn by Oliver Sheppard RHA at the GPO 📸

The art depicts Cú Chulainn after he ties himself to a standing stone to die on his feet, facing his enemies. It is only when a raven lands on his shoulder that his enemies believe he is dead 💀

So why Jayne, were you so arsed about this? Well readers, the raven on your man’s shoulder there is no other than The Mórrígan herself! After winding him up for most of the Irish epic Táin Bó Cualinge (The cattle raid of Cooley), she finally lands on his shoulder, signalling the end of Cú Chulainn! 🐦‍⬛

Now reader, you may think I’m mad for what I’m about to say but bear with me! As a devotee to the goddess, I have an absolute ball with her! She’s depicted as a scary, bloody thirsty menace & although she is that, she also has a fantastic sense of humour! If you’ve had a reading with me or a meditation circle you’ll know, she’s a case! 🐮

Now, the reason I’m telling you this? Look at the picture that i took of the statue! I was too busy looking at the statue that I’ve only just noticed the bus in the background! HOP ON! FFS I love her ya know 🤣
