A massive thank you to everyone who has supported our Food Pantry this week!
Our brilliant gardening volunteers have been busy growing produce for the pantry. Despite the very dry weather this year, we were delighted to offer rainbow chard, dill and parsley this week.
A huge thank you to SSAFA, who donated beetroot and courgettes from their allotment. Tony and Dennis from SSAFA also work alongside us helping to build and develop our garden.
Thank you to Julia and the team at Tesco for an incredibly generous car-load of herbs, jars and pasta.
And finally, a very special thank you to one of Joseph’s friends, who popped into the centre to make a cash donation to the pantry.
Every donation, whether grown, given or gifted, helps us keep the pantry stocked for our community. Thank you so much to you all.

More photos from our Joseph Lappin Memorial Tournament, which brought a brilliant three days to a close yesterday!
We were also delighted to receive £100 from the Great Get Together Fund from the Jo Cox Foundation, and it was fantastic to see everyone entering into the spirit of More in Common Together campaign.
Football is a brilliant unifier, and over the last few days it has been a privilege to welcome youth groups from across the city, bringing together young people from such a diverse range of backgrounds and communities.
Its always inspiring to have LFC Foundation and Everton in the Community working side by side too, to bring three days of fun, education and brilliant football.

The 8th annual Joseph Lappin Memorial Football Tournament was held this week, the final being today. Together with LFC Foundation and Everton in the Community we brought together 130+ young people over 3 days to compete for the trophy. Participants took part in workshops delivered by Rob Jackson about the impact a knife wound has on an individuals body. This led to open and honest conversations about the risks of carrying knives, how important the choices made are and the consequences of those actions. Young people sometimes think they are safer carrying a knife when in reality, 50% of them will become victims, often of their own knife. This years event was funded by The Community Cashback Fund through Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell and we were delighted she could join us today. Funding enabled us to provide lunch to all participants over the 3 day event which was prepared by Bay Tree Caterers Liverpool & Bay Tree Cookery Academy CIC and Harry Fazakerley performed a medley of songs. A big thanks to all of this year’s participants and the youth staff from across the city who accompanied them. We were also joined by Joseph’s mum, Toni Lappin who has presented the trophy every year since the tournament was established and we are very grateful for her continued unwavering support and commitment to this and all our other events.

Thanks everyone!!
