WE'RE HIRING – WALKING FOOTBALL COACHES

We're looking for two enthusiastic football coaches to join our team at the Joseph Lappin Centre!

We have opportunities to coach:
⚽ Over 50s Walking Football – Wednesdays, 12pm–2pm
⚽ Walking Football for Adults with Learning Disabilities – session times to be confirmed and we'll consider your availability.

If you'd like to coach both groups, we'd love to hear from you too!

£25 per hour

Applicants should have:
FA Introduction to Coaching Football (or higher)
Emergency First Aid qualification
Enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one)

Football coaches who have not coached walking football but are interested in applying are welcome!

Love football, boxing, basketball, rugby or sport in general? Ever fancied creating podcasts, filming videos or interviewing people?

Pod Squad is a brand-new FREE 15-week project for young people aged 18–25 who aren't currently in education, employment or training.

You'll get to:
Cover local sport
Create podcasts
Film and edit videos
Make social media content
Meet new people
Build confidence and learn new skills

The best bit? You'll help shape the project, deciding what sports to cover and the content you want to create.

The NHS AAA screening van will be at the Joseph Lappin Centre 9.30am–3.30pm on Thursday

The Joseph Lappin Centre is delighted to announce that we have secured funding through The National Lottery Community Fund's Reaching Communities programme.

This fantastic investment will allow us to launch exciting new community projects while strengthening our organisation for the future. Thanks to this funding, we'll be able to:
Develop a new youth club for neurodiverse children and young people.
Offer guitar tuition for local residents of all ages and abilities.
Launch a new creative writing programme for the community.
Strengthen our core staff capacity to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Joseph Lappin Centre.

We are now recruiting for the following sessional roles:
SEND Youth Coordinator (Neurodiversity Specialist)
Youth Worker (SEND/Neurodiversity Support)
Guitar Tutors
Creative Writing Coordinator

Deaf Active, in partnership with the Joseph Lappin Centre, is running two fantastic holiday camps packed with fun, creativity and new experiences!

Discovery Camp – sports, games, arts, crafts, outdoor play and themed activity days.
Football Camp – fun coaching, matches, skills and challenges for all abilities.

HAF Places (Benefit-Related Free School Meals)
If your child is eligible for benefit-related Free School Meals, they can attend FREE through the HAF programme and receive a free nutritious lunch each day, freshly prepared by Baytree Catering.

Not eligible for benefit-related Free School Meals? No problem!
Both the Discovery Camp and Football Camp can be booked through Deaf Active's website. There is no eligibility requirement. A £10 refundable deposit per child secures your place, and children will just need to bring a packed lunch.
