The sunrise at Hoylake never gets old

A huge congratulations to Royal Liverpool's Matty Jordan on securing his place at The 154th Open Championship after successfully coming through Final Qualifying at West Lancs.

Matty Jordan, Tom Parker-Thompson and Joseph Dodd-Berry are all bidding to earn their place in golf's oldest championship. A huge challenge, and an opportunity every golfer dreams of.

First played in 1919, the Glover Cup dates back to an era when many of Hoylake's villagers played off scratch or low handicaps. Legends of the game, including Harold Hilton and John Ball, were regulars in this historic foursomes match, with the early contests decided by cumulative holes won.

Yesterday, another chapter was written as Royal Liverpool members took on the Villagers in sweltering conditions. An honourable draw saw Club Captain Neil McBurney and Village Play Captain Darren Murphy share the Glover Cup, preserving a tradition that has connected the club and the local community for more than a century.

Today is final day of The 131st Amateur Championship here at Royal Liverpool. 🏆

Stuart Grehan and Matt Moloney will contest the 36-hole final for one of the most coveted titles in amateur golf.

The Amateur Championship has a rich history of identifying future stars of the game, and this afternoon another chapter will be written on the Hoylake links.

Spectators are welcome at Royal Liverpool to witness the conclusion of a memorable week.

As The Amateur Championship draws to a close at Royal Liverpool tomorrow, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many people whose hard work, professionalism and dedication have helped make the week such a success.

From greenkeeping, hospitality and clubhouse teams, to volunteers, administration staff, marshals and countless others working behind the scenes, every individual has played their part in delivering a memorable championship experience.

The people featured in these photographs represent just some of those who have contributed throughout the week. Many more have worked tirelessly out of sight, often from early morning until late evening, to ensure the championship ran smoothly.

Hosting one of the most prestigious events in amateur golf is a true team effort, and Royal Liverpool is incredibly proud of everyone who has helped showcase both the club and the game at its very best.
