I’m getting better at being where my feet are 👣

I’m trying my best to not always reach for my phone when there’s a quiet moment, or thinking about what I need to do, or rushing myself to the next thing.

Just trying to be in the moment, exactly where I am.

It’s not easy and I’m definitely a working progress, I still find myself scrolling, I still find myself thinking of what I need to do once I get home. I actually think that’s okay, it’s not about never doing it, it’s about catching yourself in that moment and bringing yourself back into the present, it’s about being more aware of where your mind is taking you.

I hate the thought of not being present, I think of all the memories I’ve lost or days I’ve not fully enjoyed because my mind has been elsewhere, so it’s something I’m very conscious of and I am trying my best to stop.

So, the next time you find yourself in a quiet moment and go to reach for your phone, pause. The next time you’re out with friends or family and you can feel yourself not concentrating because you’re thinking of what you need to get from the shop on the way home, clock it and bring yourself back into the moment.

Be where your feet are 👣

Our bodies are constantly adapting to the demands we place on them. Ongoing stress can influence everything from our breathing and recovery, to our energy levels, moods and daily habits.

I’m so passionate about helping people understand the connection between physical and mental wellbeing, because they’re never completely separate.

Learning to recognise these patterns is one of the first steps you can take towards improve your overall wellbeing.

Which one of these slides resonated with you the most?

For a long time I thought that if I was training consistently, eating well and getting stronger, then I’d have “health” figured out and be “optimising” my life.

And obviously those things are massively important and matter to your overall health, over the last few years I’ve realised they’re only part of the picture.

I’ve been a PT for 10 years now, and I’ve met people who:

- are incredibly fit but permanently stressed
- exercise every day but never slow down
- tick all the boxes of being “healthy” but still don’t like themselves

And that made me realise, physical health is only one piece of the wellbeing puzzle.

Strength training will always be a huge part of what I do, but now I’m just as passionate about helping people manage stress, improve their breathing, spend more time outdoors, build meaningful connections, and create lives they genuinely enjoy living.

That’s the philosophy behind everything I’m building now, from my coaching to my retreats.

I still think lifting weights is one of the best things you can do for yourself. I just don’t think it’s the only thing anymore, now I look at the bigger picture.

Very excited to announce that me and are launching our very first peri/menopause retreat day!

I’m fully aware that I have not yet gone through the menopause yet, but I have seen many relatives and clients go through the change, and it’s something I’ve always been eager to learn about, especially as if any of us women are lucky enough, we will go through it as well!

With Hayley having her medical experience of nursing and me working in the health and fitness industry for 10+ years we have decided to put our experience and expertise together to create this amazing day for you.

It’s time for you and you only, this can feel like a really isolating time in your life, so it’s important to know that you’re not alone, and learn about how you can best cope with all the changes it brings.
