Some facts about NSPCC
Childline became part of the NSPCC in 2006. Children and young people can contact Childline confidentially about abuse, bullying, mental health, family problems or simply when they need somebody to listen.
* Childline was launched by Dame Esther Rantzen in 1986, following a BBC programme about child abuse.
* The NSPCC runs the Speak Out Stay Safe programme in primary schools, teaching children what abuse is, that it is never their fault, and which trusted adults they can speak to.
