It had been raining hard earlier in the day but as we gathered the rain held off. Irish Community Care were here and were interviewing any Rovers brave enough to speak to them ๐ Gathered for a group photo and the safety sentence and we were on our way. The route tonight was reverse Everton hills, suggested by me which seemed like a good idea at the time. Ran down to 'Staples' and the humidity was immense. Lots of bikes seemed determined to mow us down but missed. As we headed down the road to the bottom of the hill, no one noticed that Pat had stopped to take a phone call and got left behind. Luckily she's speedy and soon caught us all back up. Quick regroup before the 'Everton Hill'. Just like supporting the team of the same name, it was torture !!! Quickly realised just how fat and unfit I've become over the summer ๐ฌ Lungs were screaming by the time I reached the summit. Posed for a photo before heading for home. Ran past the notorious pub but we were on the other side of the road and slipped by unnoticed ๐คฃ๐คฃ Bumped into the walkers as we regrouped one last time before heading back to the Irish Centre. Of course, it wouldn't be a Thursday Social if I didn't forget to restart my watch at some point so I had to do some rounding up at the end while everyone else headed for the shed. With 3 miles in the bag, I also headed into the shed to get a cup of the elixir of youth, aka Pats Brews. Shed was boiling hot so we all stood in the garden sipping our brews and trying to avoid being interviewed by ICC who were still here. All talk was of the weekends Parkrun takeover. With the rain threatening, said our goodbyes and headed home
Thanks guys, enjoyed that ๐

Great night out tonight! Thanks to Joe, Ste and Kev for leading the group ๐
We went with the traditional route tonight โ no re-routing needed and we dodged the rain โ๏ธ
We did miss Patโs refreshments though, but that definitely didnโt dampen the spirits! Walkers, joggers and runners all had a blast out there.
We go again Saturday for parkruns*๐
