This is a reminder that the EI Northern Region Committee appoint a Commercial Photographer and a Press Photographer to cover all their events.
Our Commercial Photographer is John Gibson and his website is https://www.jgprintingservices.co.uk/contact-us/
These personnel have to provide EINR with their Public Liability Insurance and Safeguarding documentation in order to satisfy the strict rules in place.
NO other photographers should be on site apart from those accompanying family or friends and they must not, under any circumstances, take photographs of anyone outside of that circle and must NOT offer photographs for sale.
These rules are in place to safeguard everyone on site at the events.

I have often wondered whether it is possible to surpass perfection, but I found my answer today at Loughanmore.
The answer is…..a resounding YES!!

Every year we say, “It simply couldn’t get any better,” and yet, somehow, every year it does.

There simply aren’t enough superlatives in our good old English dictionary to adequately express what Loughanmore means to us.
We are deeply indebted to the Dennison family for giving us the privilege of holding our event on their truly hallowed ground.

Some of the observations included:
The hedges were trimmed with extraordinary precision, while the verdant greenery and immaculate grass covering the entire farm were simply breathtaking — particularly given the drought conditions experienced across much of our island.
The log pile in the yard was so neatly constructed that it was reminiscent of a giant Jenga.
The beautiful aged trees around the estate seemed to be watching every move made by man, woman and beast.

The weather gods were certainly on our side. Following a heavy overnight dew, the sunshine brought the magnificent 17th-century demesne to life and showcased it to its absolute best.

The show jumping, taking place in full view of the majestic house, provided a photographer’s paradise and a truly spectacular backdrop.

The extensive acreage of the estate allowed for five top-class galloping courses, designed by Andrew Napier, which provided a wealth of technical challenges across the board — along with, inevitably, a few thrills and spills.

As always, the fences were beautifully dressed by Laura and Ben Napier, adding to the sense of occasion. The entire atmosphere was one of deep appreciation, admiration and awe.

And, as always, our incredible volunteers were on hand, covering every duty required with professionalism, enthusiasm and good humour. Even after a long and demanding day, they returned with smiles on their faces.

Thanks to the generosity of a number of our members, these wonderful helpers were also rewarded with some fabulous prizes in the draw.

Loughanmore truly is a very special place, and we feel enormously privileged to have been able to share another unforgettable day there and it’s even more exciting that we get to do it again in two week’s time!
Thank you again to the Dennison family for opening their gates to us.
Entries are open until noon next Monday, 24th August.

A Course Designer’s work is never done in the run up to an event.
Andrew is busy slitting and watering to ensure the best possible ground conditions at Loughanmore.
We look forward to seeing you all at this beautiful venue on Saturday.
Sincere thanks to Britt Megahey for the use of some of his machinery.

🇮🇪🥈 🥈 🥈 🥈 Team and individual silver for Ireland🥈🇮🇪

What a fantastic achievement for our Eventing team in the FEI Eventing European Championship for Ponies in Le Mans as they take Team Silver with Anna Radford also winning the individual silver medal under High Performance Manager, Debbie Byrne.

They finished on a team total of 123.8, less than a pole down behind winners France on a score of 120.5.

Well done, too, to Lillymai Walsh who was fourth with Chapel Hill Dark Spark and Ellen O'Neill was sixth overall with Cadarn D'Heolan, highlighting what an excellent performance our athletes delivered throughout the week👏

Action is continuing at a great pace at Loughanmore where we are looking forward to having our event on 15 August, courtesy of the Dennison Family.
It is an absolute privilege to have access to this incredible estate, the beauty of which is mesmerising with the lovely, perfectly maintained parkland punctuated with so many amazing trees.

In the midst of all of this we are delighted that Andrew Napier is a busy little bee getting our courses all set for the classes from EI115- EI80 and he has a lot of surprises up his sleeve.

Team Dennison have been busy on the ground preparation with strimming etc.
and there are others painting fences and doing everything to ensure a spectacular event at an absolutely amazing venue.

Entries for the event are still open, and we encourage you to join us for what promises to be a fantastic day of sport in a truly beautiful setting.

We have just seen Millstreet deliver a phenomenal U25 World Championships and we are all proud that our wee country can pull off such an incredible feat.

However, back in the North we are very excited to announce that the first of our two brand new events for 2026 will take place at Island Lodge on 29 August.

This is a new estate of 140 acres owned by Britt & Anne Megahey who already host the beautiful event at Glenpatrick.

Island Lodge is situated at Dunadry which is only 10 minutes drive from Belfast International Airport and only 30 minutes drive via M2 from Belfast docks.

The Course Designer for Island Lodge is none other than the elite ‘A’ Listed Course Designer, Eric Winter, who holds an impressive list of credentials including being the current Course Designer at Badminton with many other World class venues and events on his CV.
Adam Stevenson, who has done so much work in the Northern Region, is working alongside Eric as Course Builder.

We all know that Britt and Anne like everything done to a high standard and I can assure you that Island Lodge will be no different.

I’m giving you a little ‘sneak peek’ of some of the friends you are likely to meet at Island Lodge- some still in their infancy.
There are going to be two beautiful water complexes with lots of incredible fences.

Please put the date of 29 AUGUST in your diaries because it’s sure to be an event you won’t want to miss! 😜
Entries will open next Sunday, 9 August- don’t miss out!!
