Lisburn Rangers Boys Youth Academy

Fantastic achievement for these two players from our Senior Academy.

The club is fully embracing its youth set up and its great to see our pathway to senior football on show.

Well done to Osa and Cael 👏

A special mention for Osawaru and Cael Morris yesterday.

Both lads played for our U19s yesterday morning before later being involved with the senior side in the win against Mossley.

Osawaru made his second senior appearance of the season, continuing to show that the step up to senior football is well within his capabilities and Cael Morris made his senior debut yesterday— a brilliant moment for the young lad.

Opening day of the season in Lisburn this morning, with a cracking victory for the wee blues, 2016 Youth.
The goals were flowing from start to finish with 2 of our new boys Cain and Troy on the score sheet.
The team gave their all in a really rainy cold morning and the coaches were super pleased.

Our first ever trip to Knockramer in the lashing rain, missing a few players — but the boys were amazing from start to finish.

Cillian and Sam got us going with goals in the first match. Max carried it on in the second, and Cillian added another in the third.

Alex, Jude and Fionn worked tirelessly all morning making great blocks and tackles.

Cillian and Max both took turns in goal and pulled off some incredible saves...and Max nearly got a goal coming up for a corner in the last minute!

2017s vs Castlewellan 2017s

A fantastic start to 7-a-side football for the boys despite the result. Against a very strong Castlewellan team, the boys dominated for long periods, hitting the woodwork on several occasions. Lots to work on but definitely a very positive start to the season.

Lisburn Rangers youth v Camlough Rovers 2015 this morning.

The match began under a steady downpour, making the surface incredibly fast and skiddy. Both sides deserve immense credit for trying to play positive football despite the heavy, wet conditions. Camlough Rovers started brightly, looking to use the quick surface to slide passes into channels, but the Lisburn Rangers backline held incredibly firm.
As players adjusted to the wet ball, Lisburn Rangers began to seize control of the midfield. They broke the deadlock with a well-worked attacking move, finished off by Jackson who handled the slippery conditions perfectly to slot home the opening goal, it was quickly followed up by another well worked goal with the ball being played down the line to Jessica who crossed for Matthew to slot it into the bottom corner pasted the goal keeper. Camlough Rovers pushed hard for a goal in the second half, creating a few goalmouth scrambles in the wet weather. However, the Rangers goalkeeper and defence stayed fully alert to preserve the clean sheet. It was an excellent team performance from Lisburn Rangers Youth, who showed great character and work rate to master the elements and secure a fantastic win.

POTM: We had 2 player of the match awards today. Matthew & Noah. Also a mention for Abbie who was also fantastic.

2014 Youth had a tough game to begin the season but stepped up to the challenge with an end to end, exciting game.

Our goals from a long range Ethan effort after some individual brilliance, and Ryan rising like a salmon to head in from a corner.

Lots of chances fell, with brave blocks made, and a mesmirizing run by Zain being voted POTM by his peers on his debut.
A great performance even if the result was not in our favour.

The boys kick the season off with a solid performance.
First half was tough as Newcastle started strong
