🎉 Hawks secure Division B title and promotion! 🎉

Lisburn Hawks 29–4 Belfast Angels
Monday 24 August | Hydebank Playing Fields

Lisburn Hawks secured the Division B title—and promotion back to Division A—with a commanding 29–4 victory over Belfast Angels at Hydebank Playing Fields.

The Hawks delivered an outstanding all-round performance, combining relentless hitting with sharp defence and excellent pitching. Every player recorded a hit as Lisburn piled on 29 runs, taking their remarkable season total to 292 runs across 11 games.

Simon produced a huge performance on both sides of the ball. At the plate, he launched two home runs—including his first grand slam—and finished with seven RBIs. From the pitching circle, he conceded only one walk across 28 Angels at-bats, consistently giving the defence opportunities to make plays.

Ash contributed three doubles and five RBIs, while Ulty added three singles and drove in four runs! The Hawks’ offence applied pressure throughout the game.

The performance was just as impressive defensively. The Hawks’ outfielders made several excellent catches, while the infield completed a double play and narrowly missed out on a couple more. That disciplined team effort restricted Belfast to only five runs.

With the Division B title and promotion now secured, the Hawks have one final challenge ahead: Bangor Barracudas at Ward Park on Sunday 6 September at 2pm.

One game remains—and the champions will be aiming to finish their season in style. 🏆🦅💛

🥎 MATCH REPORT | COSMOS 6–31 EAGLES 🦅

The Lisburn Eagles produced one of their strongest performances of the season on Sunday, travelling to Comber and returning home with an emphatic 31-6 victory over the Cosmos.

The Eagles got off to the perfect start, putting five runs on the board in the opening inning before continuing to build their lead with innings of 3, 1, 5, 4 and 13 runs, finishing the game in style with a huge offensive display in the seventh.

It was a complete team performance, with the Eagles shining both at the plate and in the field. Defensively, there were several standout moments, including a superb double play involving Jason, while Terry was outstanding on the pitching plate, taking an excellent catch and combining with Laura for a number of routine but crucial outs at first base. Jason and Glenn linked up brilliantly throughout the game, turning another double play at second and making several slick defensive plays to keep the Cosmos’ offence quiet.

In the outfield, Rebecca showed great awareness with a well-worked play to Jason, who then found Charlotte to complete the out at third. Glenn also added a fantastic catch to end an inning and keep the Eagles firmly in control.

Offensively, the Eagles were relentless. Smart baserunning and consistent batting throughout the lineup kept the pressure on from first pitch to last. Matthew powered a home run, while Terry and Glenn both smashed grand slams—a historic moment as it marks the first grand slams for the Eagles.

An outstanding all-round team performance and a well-deserved win. Congratulations to everyone involved! 💙

🐶Wolfhounds 8–23 Lisburn Hawks🦅

Strandtown Primary School
Sunday 2nd August, 2pm

The Lisburn Hawks made it ten league victories in a row with another superb all-round performance, defeating the Wolfhounds 23-8 at Strandtown Primary School on Sunday afternoon.

The Hawks came flying out of the blocks, piling on seven runs in the opening inning. Ash’s three-run home run provided the early fireworks as the Hawks immediately seized control, combining powerful hitting with aggressive baserunning to punish every Wolfhounds mistake.

It wasn’t just the bats doing the damage. Caitlin delivered another composed performance from the pitching plate, backed by a defence that made the routine plays look easy while producing several standout moments. Andrew was excellent at shortstop, Claire made an important catch in right field, and the Hawks limited the Wolfhounds to just two runs across the opening four innings.

The middle innings saw the Hawks continue to build their advantage. Simon L blasted a two-run home run after Claire had turned a dropped fly ball into a stand-up double, while Kelly, Andy, Kasia, Damian, Caitlin, Kurtis and Ulty all played their part in keeping the pressure firmly on the home side.

The biggest cheer of the afternoon, however, belonged to Joy. In a moment that had the entire Hawks sidelines celebrating, she smashed the first league home run of her softball career with a scorching line drive over left field, splitting the gap perfectly between the third baseman and shortstop. It was a fantastic piece of hitting, a well-deserved milestone, and a moment she’ll never forget.

The Wolfhounds found a few late runs, but the Hawks had long since put the result beyond doubt, comfortably seeing out another convincing victory.

The win makes it an incredible 10 consecutive victories for the Hawks, who have now scored 263 runs this season. After a short break, attention turns to the final two fixtures against the Angels and Cudas, with the Hawks firmly focused on finishing the season in style and securing the league title.
