We are delighted to announce the signing of Australian talent Sophia Sammons for the remainder of this season.
At just 20 years of age, Sophia has established herself as one of the most exciting young riders in Australian cycling, enjoying a breakthrough campaign that has seen her emerge as a leading performer across both stage racing and time trialling.
The Western Australian arrives at Smurfit Westrock following a remarkable 2026 season highlighted by victory in the Australian Under-23 Individual Time Trial Championship, where she claimed the national title by an impressive margin of 55 seconds. She followed that performance with a series of standout rides throughout the ProVelo Super League, underlining her credentials as one of Australiaโs brightest prospects.
More recently in the Volta a Portugal she took 10th overall on GC and 4th in both the young rider and mountains classifications
The addition of Sammons further strengthens our ambitions as we continue to build a roster capable of competing for victories across Europe and beyond.
Everyone at Smurfit Westrock Cycling Team would like to welcome Sophia to the team and looks forward to seeing her in team colours in the season ahead.

Pleased to say we are lining up for the 2026 Womenโs Tour of Britain
A year ago, new UCI rules looked set to lock British Continental teams out of their home WorldTour race. Today, all four are confirmed for the Tour of Britain Women. They'll line up alongside 13 WorldTour teams, including defending champions FDJ United-Suez.

A positive day of racing at the Argenta Classic as the team continued to show its progress against a strong international field.
Cassie led the way with an excellent 25th place, earning three valuable UCI points.
She was backed up by Amelia in 56th, Elena 64th, Paquita 66th, and Teniel 95th after suffering a mechanical issue inside the final 2km.
With all five riders finishing in the main bunch on an extremely technical circuit, the team demonstrated another step forward.
Improved bunch positioning, strong teamwork and a competitive performance throughout the day highlighted the continued progression of the squad.
A performance to build on as we look ahead to the next races.

Ilkley Town Centre Races
A determined ride from Amelia earned a superb 10th place at the fast and technical Ilkley Town Centre Circuit Race.
An early crash on the climb in the opening laps split the field, but Amelia refused to let the front group get away. Producing a strong ride, she bridged across to the leaders in the second half of the race before sprinting to an impressive top-10 finish.
It was another solid team performance, with Jo finishing 29th, Alice 35th, and Annabel 46th.
Another positive day of racing with plenty of determination on display.

๐ฅ Teniel Campbell stormed to victory to claim the Trinidad & Tobago National Time Trial Championship.
๐ Leila Gschwentner rode to an impressive 5th place at the Austrian National Time Trial Championship.
๐ช Lucy Glover finished 8th in the British U23 National Time Trial Championship.
๐ Road Races
๐ฅ๐ฅ Teniel Campbell completed the double, adding the Trinidad & Tobago National Road Race Championship to her TT title to add to her incredible run as the reigning Caribbean Road Race & Time Trial Champion.
๐ Leila Gschwentner finished 7th in the Austrian National Road Race Championship, crossing the line in the group sprint for 3rd place. A great result riding as a lone rider in the Austrian race.
๐ฅ Jo Tindley spent almost the entire race in a three-rider chase group pursuing the lone leader at the British National Championship. After a brave ride, they were only caught by a much-reduced lead group of around 25 riders in the closing kilometres, with Jo taking a well-earned 23rd place.
A fantastic week of racing from the team. Well done, everyone!

Another strong day for the team in Denderhoutem yesterday!
Lucy Glover sprinted to an impressive 4th place in a hectic bunch finish after a fast and aggressive race contested by around 60 riders.
The race came alive in the second half when Amelia Cebak escaped with Lani Wittevrongel (Lotto Intermarchรฉ) in a two-rider breakaway. Amelia then dropped her companion with two laps remaining and looked set to stay away for a memorable solo victory.
Unfortunately, the bunch made the catch with just 2km to go, ending her brave solo effort.
With the race back together, the focus turned to the bunch sprint, where Lucy once again showed her speed and consistency to finish a superb 4th.
A strong team performance and plenty of positives to take forward!

New signing Lidia Cusack opened her account for the team with an impressive 9th place finish at the UCI 1.2 Dwars door het Hageland in Aarschot, Belgium
A late breakaway of six riders looked set to contest the victory, but the move was brought back inside the final 2km, setting up a fast bunch sprint. Lidia powered home to secure a top-10 result, supported by Amelia Cebak in 33rd and Annabel Ramsay in 50th, with all three finishing in the front group of 65 riders.
Team Manager Rick Lister said:
โ We took a young team to this event with an average age of just 20. Seeing 19-year-old Lidia finish in the top 10 was extremely pleasing. Once again, we saw clear improvements throughout the team and gained valuable experience that we can take forward into the next races.โ
