🏌️‍♂️⛳ Midlands North Region Girls Festival of Golf 2026 ⛳🏌️‍♀️

The countdown is on for the final competition of the season as we head to the fantastic Branston Golf Club on Monday 17th August 2026 for the Midlands North Region Festival of Golf!

With three exciting competitions on offer, there’s something for everyone:
🏆 Scratch Team Competition – for our scratch team players
🏆 Handicap Team Competition – for our handicap team players
🏆 9-Hole Competition – open to players of all handicap levels

Representing counties across the region, this promises to be a brilliant day of competitive golf, friendship, and fun. Alongside the golf, there’ll be:

⛳ Adventure Golf on the day

🏌️‍♀️🏆 Huge congratulations to the Lincolnshire 1st Team on qualifying for the National County Matchplay Finals for the second year running!

Representing Lincolnshire were:Jade Baker (Market Rasen), Sophie Beardsall (Greetham Valley), Neve Begley (Woodhall Spa), Isobelle Harriyanto (Woodhall Spa), Ellie Haughton (Greetham Valley), Courtney Martland (Lincoln), Helen McDougall (Lincoln), Helen Rolighed-Larsen (Blankney), Elise Rymer (Lincoln) and Abigail Scott (Kenwick Park).

Competing against the very best county golfers from across the Midlands North Region, Lincolnshire produced a superb performance to emerge as emphatic winners, finishing three points clear of their nearest rivals.

The three-day event saw the six Midlands North Region counties – Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire & Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Lincolnshire – battle it out in a demanding format of foursomes and singles matches, all played off scratch. This year’s championship was hosted by Shropshire County Ladies Golf Association in conjunction with Shifnal Golf Club.

With two foursomes and three singles matches played both morning and afternoon against different counties, the competition tested skill, determination and team spirit throughout.

Lincolnshire's victory means they will now represent the Midlands North Region at the National County Matchplay Finals at Betchworth Park Golf Club, Surrey, from 28th–31st July 2026, where they will compete for the title of National Champions.

A fantastic achievement by the entire team and everyone involved. We wish the girls the very best of luck in July – and remember, supporters are always welcome!

Fantastic representation from the LGGS at the LWGA County Championships at Market Rasen over the weekend ⛳️👏🏽

Out of the 26 players starting in the 36-hole stroke play qualifier, an incredible 10 were juniors — and 5 of those progressed through to the knockout matchplay stages! A fantastic achievement for the girls and a real reflection of the hard work being put in by everyone involved.

🏆 Bella Lowery also won the 36-hole Nett Trophy

🏆 Isobelle Harriyanto – Runner-up in the Julia Sales Foursomes Salver

What a turnaround from Isobel yesterday at Blankney Golf Club ⛳️

After a rocky front 9, she completely turned her round around in unbelievable fashion. It all changed when she holed a HUGE 45ft putt on the 9th for her first birdie of the day 🔥

From there, the confidence kicked in and she went on to make 5 birdies in total, showing incredible resilience and character to bounce back the way she did.

Finished with a fantastic 76 gross 👏

So proud of how she kept fighting and never let the tough start define her round 💙

📣 Data and Communications Officer – LGGS 📣

We’re looking for an organised and friendly Data and Communications Officer to help support and connect junior girl golfers across the county ⛳️

Key responsibilities:
• Use Golf Genius to promote coaching, competitions, and events 🏌️‍♀️
• Collect and share player information with coaches and the Performance Lead 📊
• Set up and manage competitions on Golf Genius 🗂️
• Manage emails and enquiries 📧
• Help keep the LWGA website up to date 🌐
• Create regular newsletters for parents, clubs, and coaches 📰

About you:
• Well organised with good attention to detail ✅
• Confident communicator 🗣️
• Comfortable using digital tools (Golf Genius experience helpful but not essential) 💻
• Positive and proactive ✨

This role plays an important part in helping young golfers access opportunities and stay connected 💚

Showing real determination after a tough start, bouncing back with rounds of 77 (+4) and 75 (+2) to make the cut and secure an incredible 5th place finish 👏

The conditions were absolutely brutal with hailstones and sideways winds, but the team showed incredible resilience and character throughout 👏🏽
