We had Devlin join us on the hills today and, for his first session, he showed an exceptionally high level of fitness, determination, and effort. His dad, Speedy, runs the very successful Sunday family session, so it was great to have his son out smashing the hills.
"I can’t find the time.” 🤔
The truth is time is everywhere. Time is a gift, what matters is how we choose to use it.
If anybody is thinking of improving their fitness, please feel free to message me about any of the sessions for advice or to find out which one would work best for you.
An important reminder in this hot weather, make sure you drink plenty of fluids and always bring a water bottle to the sessions. When we sweat, we lose both water and electrolytes, so these need replacing, particularly during longer or more intense sessions.
I’ve had two boxers feel faint over the last couple of days because of the heat, so make sure you’re properly hydrated, bring plenty to drink, and speak up immediately if you feel dizzy, weak, or unwell.
Have a great weekend, and see you at Bracebridge ABC, the oldest and most successful boxing club in Lincoln. How can it still be only £2 a session 🥊

Another one in the bag, as Kelly Oliver used to say.
Hills smashed in the sunshine, with the glorious backdrop of the Cathedral. How lucky are we to live in such a beautiful, historic place like Lincoln?
I’ve just organised sparring at a club we haven’t visited before in Sheffield, with four boxers on Saturday 18th. We also have a club from Northampton coming over once we’ve confirmed a date.
Touch Gloves Grantham came over during the week too, so there’s plenty going on for the boxers at Bracebridge. 🥊
Enjoy the weeknd everyone and get out and do some exercise if you can. Better still get yourself to Bracebridge. We have Speedy's family session on Sunday afternoon.
Great introduction to boxing for all the family. Fun and exercise what could be better. Then of course Tricky Ricky Wilders Sunday morning session, that I can personally vouch for 🥊
Plenty of weekly session morning & evening. Mark Harboard runs a very busy weekly morning session for those who like to get training out the way.
No excuses 😜

Thank you Dave from Touch Gloves Boxing Gym Grantham for coming over. Lots for the young boxers to work on and we'll see you at yours next time 🥊

One of our coaches, Mark Richards , along with his son Theo Richards and the rest of the family, are taking part in the Pretty Muddy Race for Life again this year in support of Cancer Research UK.
This year's challenge will be especially tough for Mark. Not only is he currently waiting for a full knee replacement, but he'll also be tackling the course with a broken rib... courtesy of a training session with one of our long-standing boxers! 🫣🥊
Despite the pain he'll be in, Mark says it's nothing compared to what people affected by cancer go through every day.
If you're able to, please support Mark and Theo with a donation, no matter how small. Every pound raised helps fund life-saving research and makes a real difference.
Thank you for your support! ❤️

Hills completed in the drizzle.
Explosive power is a huge part of boxing, but so is the engine that allows you to use it when it matters most.
Knowing you can go through the gears, change the pace, and produce different phases of attack without worrying about your fitness is a powerful asset. That confidence doesn't just come from skill—it comes from the work you put in when nobody is watching.
A big part of ring confidence comes from knowing you've done the hard miles, pushed through the discomfort, and prepared properly. When fatigue isn't a concern, you can focus solely on the job in front of you.
Another solid session in the bank and well done all 🥊
