Despite awarding herself a 2 stroke penalty for teeing off ahead of the tee markers, Imogen still carded a round of +1 to win the 2026 Pleasington Putter by 2 shots. Good luck next week in the English Women’s Amateur!”

Members will be saddened to hear of the passing of past member J.I.M. (Mick) Bans, who has died at the age of 91.

Ex RAF, Mick was a very fine sportsman in everything he turned his hand to, as well as being one of the country’s best basketball coaches.

Mick’s name sits proudly on the JIM Bans Trophy competed for by the Seniors each year.

A huge thank you to Ken King for giving our clubhouse welcome sign a fantastic makeover! 👏

The newly renovated sign looks absolutely brilliant and creates a wonderful first impression for everyone arriving at South Kyme Golf Club. Ken has generously given his time and skills to restore it, and the difference is clear to see.

We are incredibly fortunate to have volunteers like Ken who are always willing to help and take such pride in our club. It’s people like him, working quietly behind the scenes, who help make South Kyme Golf Club such a special place.

Thank you, Ken, for your hard work, dedication and continued support. It is very much appreciated by everyone at the club. 💚⛳

Its been a memorable weekend at South Kyme Golf Club, where the Club Championships have been played over 36 holes for both men and women.

In hot but benign conditions on Saturday, scores were low, then on Sunday the easier to bear temperatures were more than compensated for by strong winds that left many in the field struggling.

Women’s champion was Sue Annibal, who won by three strokes from Kimberley Wilson. Sue also won the handicap competition by one stroke from Helen Kirschner.

The Mens Champion was decided in a titanic struggle between Jonny Eadsforth and Mark Lally. 36 holes were not enough to separate either player and so the competition was decided by a sudden death play off.

Extra hole after extra hole could not separate either player, and it was not until the 10th extra hole that Jonny Eadsforth finally edged Mark Lally to put his name on the Trophy and the Honours board in the Clubhouse.

Divisional winners in the Men Championship were Neil Perchard, Steve Barlow and Glenn Stanton.

The annual Golfer/Non Golfer competition was played on Friday with the usual mix of giggles and groans as 35 South Kyme golfers hit the ball to the green and then handed over to their non golfer partner to putt the ball into the hole.

Played over 9 holes, it was won with a tremendous 20 points by golfer Colin Gent and his non playing partner James.

Winner of the award for best non golfer putter was Jim Davey who managed to putt out the 9 holes only having to putt the ball 14 times.

Played in aid of raising funds for the Junior Section the evening raised £136.

One of the most popular days of the golfer year went ahead today as the Seniors AmAm took place.

South Kyme welcomed 100 golfers to a breezy and occasionally showery South Kyme.

Damaging to all waistlines, players had a bacon bap to start, a magnificent spread overseen by the Ladies Section at half way and a chili in the clubhouse to finish.

Prizes went to the top seven, the competition was won in a magnificent 15 under by South Kyme members Tugwell, Rollitt, Silcock and head of greens Dixon. Whose team had set the course up really well. Look forward to seeing you all next year!

SKGC are happy to announce that their practice ground is being shared for the afternoon with South Kyme Biodiversity Group.

Seeing birds of prey up close and then watching their airborne acrobatics in a space that is absolutely ideal for raptor flying displays is a wonderful thing.

Come along to watch the birds and take some refreshments in the Clubhouse.
