🏆 Leyland Juniors Pipped at the Post! 🏌️♂️🏌️♀️
The North Lancs Junior Golf Association team narrowly missed out on retaining their championship title, finishing runners-up to Longridge by just 1.5 points.
It was an excellent season for the team, recording 5 wins, 1 draw and just 1 defeat, and they challenged right through to the final day.
Junior Organiser Chris Weetman said:
“Another season in which the squad challenged right to the final day. A brilliant first part of the season couldn’t quite be sustained during the August and September matches, and it was by the narrowest of margins, effectively three halved matches on the 18th hole, that separated us from being champions again.
On the plus side, we gave debuts to four younger players during the season, which bodes well for next season, as we only lose one player through age.
We also had three players selected for the North Lancs Inter-League team, Sam, Jamie and Abi, competing against Fylde and East Lancs, and two players, Jamie and Abi, selected for the North Lancs team competing in the six-team Lancashire Inter-League competition. Both teams went on to win their respective competitions.”
