Tomorrow, Sempai Alex takes on the ultimate challenge: attempting his Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt)!

Alex has been training on our mats since he was just 4 years old. Watching him grow into the martial artist he is today has been an incredible journey, and now he is stepping up to undertake what is undoubtedly the toughest grading out there.

Over the course of an intense two-day grading, he will be pushed to his absolute limits with:

🥋 Hours of throw syllabus & brutal mat conditioning

🏃‍♂️ A 12-mile run

🥊 Full Knockdown submission grappling & fighting

💪 Multiple grueling fitness tests
This is no ordinary test. In over 36 years, only SIX people have ever successfully passed this grading. It takes unmatched discipline, heart, and spirit just to stand at the starting line.

🥋 Helping our kids stay safe and build confidence – new Ju Jitsu classes coming to Tring

As parents, we want to give our kids the tools to navigate the world safely, confidently, and with resilience.

In just under a month—starting Monday, August 10th we are officially bringing Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu to Tring, with a focus on practical youth self-defense and character building.

Our classes go way beyond just physical techniques. We teach children how to carry themselves with confidence, handle difficult situations, and stay safe.
