Leicester City Women Football Supporters Club

We’ve taken a bit of time to process Saturday because the reality of it is still difficult to put into words.

Leicester City Women will play in WSL2 next season.

The players gave everything they could, whilst in the stands, the support never stopped.

From the first whistle to the last, the Blue Army turned up in full voice and full belief we could maintain top flight status.

However, sometimes despite the effort on and off the pitch, the result won’t go your way, that’s just football.

We’re immensely proud of the effort from the team this season, and hope that continues into next season as we strive to return to where we belong.

A difficult afternoon against a strong United side. We spent long periods without the ball and found it hard to create clear chances.

Friday 13 February | 19:00 | Joie Stadium
 6–0 Leicester City
A really tough evening away from home. City showed their quality early and it was hard for us to get a foothold in the game.

A more organised performance, with better shape in midfield. Still lacking that final bit in front of goal, but some positives to take.

A frustrating one this. We took the lead but couldn’t hold on, with Villa turning it around in the second half.

A big game for us and unfortunately one that didn’t go our way. Brighton had more of the ball and created more chances, but we kept going and pushed late on.
