Pre-Season T1 Friendly | Long Eaton

Today our ladies headed away to Long Eaton for a pre-season friendly, and although the score didn’t go our way, 30–0, there was so much to be proud of.

With different rules to what we’re used to, no coaches with us due to the last-minute fixture, and a few new faces on the pitch, the girls adapted brilliantly. We gelled as a team, kept the teamwork going and showed some fantastic resilience from start to finish. There were no heads dropping — just plenty of encouragement, support and a real enjoyment of playing rugby together.

A special shout-out to Kaylah and Kaci for their first ever match. They battled through the nerves, got stuck in and played absolutely incredibly. We couldn’t be prouder of you both!

Player of the Match – Ryce
Always there, always making ground when we had possession and putting in a fantastic all-round performance. A thoroughly deserved POTM — we’re very proud of you!

We also loved the sportsmanship shown throughout the game. Caitlin from Long Eaton was our choice for Opposition Player of the Match after a brilliant intercept, while Laura was chosen by Long Eaton as their Opposition Player of the Match. A lovely little reminder that rugby is about so much more than the scoreline!

And a huge thank you to our captain for the day, Verity, for the pre-match changing room speech, channelling her inner Dolly Parton 😉. It was exactly what we needed, and the girls went out and embodied everything she asked of them.

Thank you to Long Eaton for hosting us and for being such a lovely bunch of ladies. We had a great time and really enjoyed getting some friendly rugby under our belts.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming you to our place later in September for our first league match!

WOMEN’S 1ST XV | MATCH DAY

The new season starts here.

Our Women’s 1st XV kick off their season this Bank Holiday Sunday with a T1 friendly against Long Eaton.

It’s the first outing of the season for the Trailblazers, with a few new faces stepping out in the shirt for the first time and making their 1st XV debut.

A chance to get back to doing what we love with so many more fixtures lined up this season!

What a brilliant day of rugby, sunshine and community spirit at yesterday’s Paul Tebbatt Cup!

Congratulations to Burbage, who took home the cup after winning two of their three games — thoroughly deserved!

A particularly special moment was having Tebbo there to present the cup himself. The whole Tebbatt family have been overwhelmed by the support, encouragement and love they’ve received from their rugby family, and yesterday was a lovely reminder of just what makes rugby so special.

A huge thank you to all the teams who took part and helped make it such a fantastic day. Great rugby, plenty of fun and a whole lot of sunshine — exactly what it’s all about. 💙

The Paul Tebbatt Cup is nearly here!

This Saturday we welcome Oakham, Melton and Burbage to Forest for a great afternoon of rugby.

Introducing the inaugural Paul Tebbatt Cup.

This year, we’re incredibly proud to name our new annual mini rugby tournament in honour of our former Club President, Paul Tebbatt, who has recently experienced ill health.

Paul has dedicated so much to Leicester Forest RFC over the years, and this is our way of recognising his commitment, friendship and lasting impact on our club. We hope he’ll be with us on the day to present the very first Paul Tebbatt Cup to its deserving winners.

Join us on Saturday 22nd August from 11am for a fantastic day of senior rugby, community spirit and family fun.

Teams from Leicester Forest RFC, Syston RFC, Melton Mowbray RFC and Trinity RFC will compete for the inaugural trophy.

There’ll be plenty happening throughout the day too, including live music, a comedian, food trucks and inflatables.

Whether you’re supporting a team, catching up with friends or simply looking for a great family day out, we’d love to see you there.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of former player Peter Clarke.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Club Clean Up Day – Saturday 18th July from 10am!

With the new season just around the corner, it’s time to get Leicester Forest looking its very best!

Whether you can spare an hour or stay all day, we’d love to see as many members, players, parents and supporters as possible. There are plenty of jobs to get stuck into, including:
🔹 Painting
🔹 Tidying the grounds
🔹 Rubbish collecting
🔹 Cleaning and organising the changing rooms
🔹 Clearing out the Bob Beason Bar
🔹 And lots more!

As a thank you, there’ll be a BBQ and the bar will be open afterwards – a great chance to catch up with everyone while giving something back to the club.

Many hands make light work, so come along and help us get the club ready for another fantastic season. 💙
