Whetstone Athletic U11 Jaguars are looking to add a high-level attacking player to their squad. 🐆⚽

Earlier in the week, we welcomed a nearby business that has always been close to hearts.

Based just over the fence from Elizabeth Park at Beeches Farm, Fix Auto Leicester have long been trusted supporters of our football club — and they’ve certainly thrown plenty of stray footballs back over the years! ⚽️😂

Wildcats head coach Matt Eltham and his team welcomed Fix Auto Leicester Managing Director Kevin Shaw to Elizabeth Park to officially unveil their new shirt for the season.

A busy Bank Holiday week of football saw our teams continue their preparations for the new season — with plenty of friendlies, goals and positive performances across the club! So from the top…

📅 ON TUESDAY…

Before the rain arrived, our U12 Jaguars and U12 Vixens began the week by hosting friendly fixtures at Elizabeth Park.

📅 ON WEDNESDAY…

It was Whetstone versus Whetstone as our U15 Pumas faced the U15 Lions in a competitive inter-club friendly, played in great spirits.

Also on the college fields, the U16 Panthers welcomed Market Bosworth.

📅 ON THURSDAY…

The girls took centre stage as the U16 Foxes and U17 Vixens hosted home friendlies.

The U15 Pumas were also back in action, making the short trip to neighbours Blaby & Whetstone during a packed pre-season schedule.

📅 ON SATURDAY…

🔥 FIVE FROM FIVE!

The First Team maintained their perfect league record with a commanding victory over Holwell Sports Reserves.

The Vets completed a winning afternoon for our senior sides with an impressive 3–1 victory against Division Two outfit Willow FC.

Earlier in the day, our U7 Panthers, U10 Vixens, U11 Jaguars, U12 Jaguars and U12 Panthers all continued their preparations ahead of the new campaign.

📅 ON SUNDAY…

There was another full programme of junior and youth football:

🦁 U12 Lions fought back from two goals down to draw with Hinckley Borough
🦁 U9 Lions recorded an impressive victory over Kirby Muxloe
🐆 U9 Jaguars also celebrated a win away at Rothley Imps
🐆 U12 Jaguars drew at Karma FC in their second fixture of the weekend
🦊 U14 Vixens completed their pre-season campaign away at Coalville Town

Whetstone Athletic’s LMS competition began ahead of the 2025/26 season—and nobody has managed to claim the prize! Five rounds later, the jackpot has continued to grow and we’re now opening the competition to both existing and brand-new players.

💰 Jackpot: £3k+
🔄 Existing players: £10 re-entry
🆕 New players: £60 entry

The higher new-player entry reflects the five previous £10 rounds already contributed by those who have been involved from the beginning, plus entry into the new round.

The rules are simple:

⚽ Pick one Premier League team to win each gameweek
🚫 You cannot select the same team twice
❌ A defeat or draw means you’re out
🏆 Outlast everybody else and win the rollover jackpot!
