**”There’s no such thing as a self-made man.”**

Of all the things Arnold Schwarzenegger has said over the years, this one surprised me the most.

At first, I thought, *”If anyone is self-made, surely it’s Arnold.”*

But then he explained it.

He had coaches.
Training partners.
Mentors.
People who opened doors.
People who challenged him.
People who believed in him before the rest of the world did.

It made me realise something...

We celebrate the individual, but we rarely acknowledge the people standing behind them.

The same is true with your health.

So many people think they need more motivation.

In reality, most people don’t need more motivation...

They need more support.

Someone to keep them accountable.
Someone to challenge them.
Someone to remind them why they started when life gets busy.

Whether it’s in business, sport or your health, very few people achieve anything meaningful completely alone.

So today, instead of asking for help being a weakness...

Maybe it’s one of the smartest investments you can make.

💬 I’d love to know...

**Who’s been the biggest positive influence on your journey, and what did they teach you?**

Most people think they need more motivation.

I don’t think that’s the problem.

The truth is, every decision you make creates momentum.

Skip one workout... and it becomes easier to skip the next.

Choose the takeaway... and choosing it tomorrow feels even more normal.

But the opposite is true too.

One workout becomes two.

Two become a routine.

A routine becomes part of your identity.

The hardest part isn’t getting fit.

It’s changing the direction of the momentum you’ve spent years creating.

The good news?

You don’t have to wait for a health scare, a holiday or a New Year’s resolution to become the thing that finally forces you to change.

You can choose to create that force today.

👇 What’s the biggest thing that’s keeping your momentum moving in the wrong direction right now?

The TFF Fight team had two fighters making their debut at the AFK interclub in Sheffield on Saturday. We’re super proud of both Ibrahim and Durrell for putting in some serious effort!

Well done!

You’re not failing because you lack motivation.

You’re failing because you’re guessing.

Most people trying to get in shape are actually making a decent effort.

They’re training.

They’re trying to eat better.

They’re cutting back on the rubbish.

But they’re still frustrated.

Why?

Because effort without direction rarely produces exceptional results.

This client had tried before.

He’d made progress before.

But he was never truly dialled in.

So he made a decision.

Instead of trying to figure it all out himself, he joined my 12-week REFORGE Mentorship Programme.

Here’s what happened in just ONE month:

87kg → 84kg

28.3% Body Fat → 23.3% Body Fat

35.5kg Muscle → 36.6kg Muscle

Read that again.

He lost fat.

Built muscle.

And completely changed the trajectory of his results.

This is why REFORGE isn’t just another training programme.

It isn’t another meal plan.

And it definitely isn’t another “eat less and move more” approach.

Inside REFORGE we get obsessive about the details.

Training.

Nutrition.

Recovery.

Sleep.

Stress.

Lifestyle.

Body composition.

And where needed, blood work and health markers.

We gather as much data as possible so we’re making decisions based on facts.

Not feelings.

Not gym myths.

Not guesswork.

The result?

Clients who finally stop spinning their wheels.

We’ve had clients lose 20kg+.

Drop over 10% body fat.

Completely transform their energy, confidence and health.

Not because they suddenly became more motivated.

Because they finally had a plan.

If you’re a busy professional who’s tired of starting over and wants to see what’s actually possible when you get dialled in...

And let’s have a conversation.

The debate about social media for under 16s has got a lot of people talking.

Whether you agree with a ban or not, I think most of us can agree on one thing...

Kids today are spending less time moving, less time socialising face-to-face and more time staring at screens.

As a coach, I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact that sport and physical activity can have on young people.

It’s not just about fitness.

It’s about confidence.

It’s about resilience.

It’s about learning how to communicate, make friends, deal with setbacks and solve problems.

These are skills that can’t be learned through a screen.

One of the reasons my wife and I encouraged our daughter to get involved in activities from a young age was because we wanted her to have opportunities to be active, social and develop those life skills that come from being around other people.

The fitter, stronger and more confident our children become, the better equipped they are to deal with the challenges of modern life.

That’s why youth fitness, sport and physical activity are so important.

Less screen time.

More movement.

More confidence.

More real-world experiences.

What are your thoughts on social media for under 16s?

Want to live longer?

Most people think the answer is eating more salads, taking supplements, or going for the occasional walk.

While those things can help, a recent study found that just 90 minutes of strength training per week was associated with a 13% lower risk of premature death.

The benefits didn’t stop there.

Participants also had a:

• 19% lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease
• 27% lower risk of death from neurological diseases such as dementia

This is why I’m such a big believer in strength training.

Not because I want everyone to look like a bodybuilder.

Because every week I speak to people who are worried about:

* Developing diabetes
* High cholesterol
* Heart disease
* Losing their mobility
* Becoming dependent on family as they get older

Muscle isn’t just something that helps you look better in a t-shirt.

It’s an organ that helps regulate blood sugar, supports bone health, improves balance, and allows you to stay active and independent for longer.

The goal isn’t simply to live longer.

The goal is to reach your 70s, 80s and beyond still able to travel, play with your grandchildren, get off the floor, carry your shopping and enjoy life.

The good news?

You don’t need to live in the gym.

Just 2-3 strength training sessions per week could make a huge difference.

How many strength sessions are you currently doing each week?

Muay Thai Sessions at TFF Fitness, Barkby Road, LE4 9LG

The world feels different lately.

People feel more anxious.
Less confident.
Less safe.

And deep down, a lot of people know they should probably learn how to protect themselves and the people they care about…

But most never do anything about it.

That’s exactly why we started our Muay Thai classes at TFF.

Muay Thai is one of the most practical and effective martial arts in the world for:
• Self defence

But this isn’t some intimidating fighter gym.

Our classes are designed for everyday people and complete beginners who want to:
• Feel fitter
• Feel stronger
• Feel more capable
• Learn real skills
• Build confidence
• Push themselves mentally and physically

Every session is coached in a supportive environment with small groups limited to just 10 people, so you actually get proper attention and help.

Are you eating enough protein?

Probably not.

Protein has become one of the biggest buzzwords in the fitness industry recently.

Everywhere you look there’s another “high protein” product being pushed at you.

Protein cereals.
Protein yoghurts.
Protein chocolate.
Even protein water.

But WHY is protein actually important?

Protein is made up of amino acids — the building blocks your body uses for repair, recovery and maintaining muscle tissue.

And no… this isn’t just important for bodybuilders.

As we get older, maintaining muscle becomes incredibly important for:

• Metabolism
• Energy levels
• Strength
• Posture
• Injury prevention
• Long-term health

One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to lose weight is not eating enough protein.

Why?

Because when you’re dieting, your body can lose muscle as well as fat.

The less muscle you have, the lower your metabolic rate can become.

Protein also helps massively with hunger and cravings because it keeps you fuller for longer.

So how much protein do you actually need?

Most evidence-based recommendations suggest around 1.6–2.2g of protein per kilogram of bodyweight depending on your goals and activity levels.

So for example…

A 70kg person would likely benefit from around 112g+ of protein per day.

That said, protein intake should always be individualised based on:

• Goals
• Lifestyle
• Activity levels
• Lean body mass
• Current eating habits

That’s why at TFF we assess all of this before making recommendations rather than throwing generic numbers at people.

If you found this useful, share it with someone trying to lose weight or improve their health.

And if you’d like me to send you a list of high-protein foods and easy protein swaps, comment:
