Men’s 2nd team celebrated clinching the Division 5 title this evening after a 6-3 win over Houghton! Superb result this evening and thank you to all players that have won crucial sets along the way! Been a pleasure captaining this team this year and we move on to Division 4!

Summer League Week 8 recap.

Clean sweep for all four teams who all picked up vital wins to close in on great finishing positions!

Men’s 3rds started the week off by clinching the Division 7 title. With promotion already secure, it was a top quality performance against a strong LFE side as they ran out 7-2 winners.

Wednesday saw Mens 2nds take a huge step towards promotion out of Division 5 as much changed team defeated a strong Market Bosworth side by the closest of margins, 5-4.

Men’s 1sts then clinched a statement win over Carisbrooke, again by a 5-4 margin to secure 3rd Division tennis for another season.

The Ladies then did the same by holding Division 1 for another season with a nice 6-3 win over Charnwood.

At the weekend, the Mixed Doubles side, on the back of two successive promotions ran in to a strong combination of youth and experience but came away with a competitive defeat, 6-3 against Oadby Granville.

Superb set of results which all but concludes the Summer League with just one match remaining for Mens 2nds who look to pick up the last few sets needed for promotion.

Vets then takes centre stage this weekend coming with two home games for Mens 2nds and Ladies respectively with Mens 1sts heading over to Hinckley

As a member of an LTA-registered venue, you get free access to a Play+ LTA Advantage account — and that unlocks entry into the LTA’s own Wimbledon ballot, separate from the general public one. So you’re actually in with two shots at tickets each year, not just one.

How to get in on it:
- **LTA Advantage ballot** (needs a free Play+ or paid Fan+ account): lta.org.uk/advantage
- **Public ballot** (open to everyone, no club needed): sign up for a free myWimbledon account at wimbledon.com and opt in when the ballot window opens (usually September)

Neither costs anything to enter, and there’s no reason not to be in both if you fancy your chances of watching next year’s Championships in person.

Not quite job done for Mens 2nds but very nearly there! Huge 5-4 win at Market Bosworth this evening. We’ve had to call in the cavalry in recent weeks due to injuries and other absences but the results haven’t changed! 8 out of 8 for the season. One last push on 13th to get us over the line!

Job done. A 7-2 win over Leicester Forest East this evening completes the season for Mens 3rd team. They finish with a perfect 9 wins from 9 matches.

Congratulations on promotion and becoming newly crowned champions of Division 7!

Here we go ladies and gents. Final few weeks of the season and still plenty to be decided for all of our teams.

Productive week last week with Mens II picking up a crucial big win over Carisbrooke Tennis Club to stretch the lead at the top of Division 5 to 22pts. Albeit the chasing pack have games in hand but a great position to be in.

Mens 1sts with just two pairs picked up two vital sets at table leading Oakham Tennis Club Keeping their heads firmly above water with a couple to play.

Ladies match fell foul of the truly volcanic weather conditions

Braving that heat proved to be a superb decision from the Mens 3rds who after flirting with relegation last season have secured promotion to Division 6 with an 8th win out of 8. Big 8-1 win over Hinckley Town Tennis Club Massive congratulations to Captain Chris and all involved this season. A brilliant effort!

Some really key games this week starting off with the Mens 3rds as they look to complete the sweep this season on Tuesday evening away at a strong looking Leicester Forest East Tennis Club team!

Mens 2nds also look to continue their perfect form with a trip to Market Bosworth Tennis Club who are also in excellent form in what could be a pivotal match for both teams.

We close out the week with both of our 1sts in home action. The men welcome Carisbrooke and will be looking for a win to secure their Division 3 status for what feels like the 300th time!

Then on Friday, our Ladies welcome Charnwood Lawn Tennis Club Not looking up or down in the league table, the Ladies have again done a superb job in the dizzy heights of Division 1.

Men’s Vets 1 got their season underway today against Market Harborough. A few rearrangements had delayed the start but they made up for it — 8-0 on a boiling Wigston Sunday ☀️
