Leek Golf Club is a well established parkland golf course that is situated in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands. Its unique position offers outstanding views of the ancient town of Leek, the Staffordshire Moorlands and the Peak District National Park. Our course provides eighteen distinctly individual challenges and is recognised as being one of the finest in Staffordshire. It is maintained to a high standard and is resilient to most weather conditions
Leek Golf Club was founded in 1892 with the original 9 holes situated on the other side of the road to the present course. In 1922 work started on the “new” course and the original score card shows the layout of the course to be almost identical to what it is today, a tribute to the skills of the professional golfer and course architect Tom Williamson.

LGC Juniors on Tour ⛳️
Another busy weekend for the Leek Juniors, with plenty of fantastic performances across the region!

🏌️‍♂️ Saturday
Oliver Carter, Luke Sherwin, Austin Rogula and Albie Carter represented Staffordshire Under 14s in their match against Shropshire.

🏆 Sunday – Midland Under 14s Champion of Champions
Austin Rogula competed in the event and finished in 2nd place.

🏆 Sunday – Staffordshire Golf Union Junior Order of Merit Final
A large group of Leek juniors travelled to Great Barr Golf Club to compete in the final, with several of our juniors picking up prizes:

SENIORS VS LADIES MATCH

On Monday 7 September Leek GC Seniors played the second match of the year against Leek Ladies
Having been soundly thrashed in the first match back in May the gents were looking forward to a chance to regain the trophy
After a fantastic days golf in good weather (and with much jollity in all games) the match ended in a thrilling 2 all draw – the Ladies therefore retaining the trophy

Thank you to all gents and ladies who took part in such a wonderful, friendly event
Next years dates are already in the club calendar.

When the time comes around, please let new Ladies Captain Pip Nadin or myself know if you wish to join us in playing this most enjoyable fixture

2 hole in one’s this weekend 🤩

On Saturday in the September Medal Charlie Snow recorded his first hole in one at Leek, making it his 2nd ever.

Then in the 4 man team event on Sunday, Phil Tomczak got his first ever hole in one.

Captain’s Away Day – Heyrose, 20th August
A huge thank you to everyone who joined me for my Captain’s Away Day at Heyrose. It was a truly heartfelt day ❤️, and I had a wonderful time.

The course was very good with lovely wide fairways. The staff at Heyrose made us feel incredibly welcome, and the food was delicious!

Leek Golf Club – 3rd Women on Par Day

Saturday 5th September 2026

Leek Golf Club held its 3rd Women on Par Day on Saturday 5th September, and once again it was a fantastic and enjoyable day for everyone involved.

The event gave our enthusiastic group of academy ladies the opportunity to meet new friends, experience playing on a great golf course, and gain confidence on the course. Each participant was also partnered with a personal buddy who provided helpful advice and guidance on golf etiquette and rules throughout the day.

A huge thank you goes to Lynne Ball and Lesley Powell, who did a fantastic job organising and setting up the day.

We would also like to thank our wonderful buddies — Maz Lilley, Sheila Hollins, Lorraine Dawson and Carolyn Hubble, along with Lynne and Lesley — for giving their time and supporting the ladies as they played seven holes on the course.

The competition was incredibly close, with the scores so tight that the winner had to be decided by a putt-off. Congratulations to Liz Hulme, who won the putt-off against Abi Goodwin to take the prize.

A very big thank you to all our buddies for making the day such a success, and especially to Lynne Ball, who kindly donated the winning prize.

It was another brilliant Women on Par Day, full of fun, friendship and encouragement. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the course and welcoming even more ladies to future events.

The Leek Vets team successfully made the final of the EHP Trophy.
This knockout competition is played by all golf clubs with a Vets team in the North Staffs and District League.

The final took place at Barlaston GC on Wednesday where Leek won the EHP Trophy 3-2 against Blythe Bridge 🏆🏆🏆🏆

Captains Day for Men – 15th August 2026

This year we tried something a little different with two shotgun starts, and I’m delighted to say they worked brilliantly! The pace of play was excellent, with both the morning and afternoon rounds finishing in just over four hours and ten minutes — fantastic effort from everyone!

There were plenty of great scores throughout the day, helped no doubt by the good weather and course conditions, presented by the Greens Team.

A huge thank you to Baileys for their support and for keeping everyone fuelled with some excellent sausage rolls and pasties — they certainly went down well!

I’d also like to say a very special thank you to Gemma, Alex, Maisie and Carol Nixon for all their help and support in making the day such a success.

And, of course, we can’t forget Bobby and Nell, who did a fantastic job collecting an incredible £700+ for the raffle! Thank you to everyone who generously supported the raffle on the day.

Most importantly, I hope everyone had a super day, enjoyed the golf and the company, and went home with some great memories.
