If you’ve never really done any long-distance running, you entered the London Marathon on a whim and you found out you got in today. Firstly, congratulations. Secondly, I’m very jealous because I didn’t get a place, but here’s a few tips to get you started if you have little to no running experience.

➡️ The main thing that I want people to take from this is that lots of different style fancy workouts for a beginner aren’t necessary. You can literally start with a simple couch to 5K programme and do a tonne of easy running. Get that in the bank, get lots of time on your feet for the first few months, and that’s going to give a really solid foundation. Do a tonne of volume straight away, build up very steadily, and don’t forget to strength train.

Going into my first marathon I had come off the back of 3 pretty gnarly injuries so here’s a few things I did during my training block post injury to make it to marathon day and run the whole thing pain free.

Hormone Therapy (HRT) doesn’t just affect how you feel and how you look, it changes how your body recovers from training too, and that’s not necessarily in a positive or negative way. It’s just a bit different.

Here’s what we know to be true, based on the research so far when it comes to Trans folk on Testosterone or Oestrogen.
