🌞 Bramley parkrun #471 🏃♀️🏃♂️
What a fantastic way to kick off July! ☀️🌿 We welcomed 191 runners, joggers and walkers to Bramley parkrun this week, all made possible by our incredible team of 34 volunteers 🙌💛
A huge congratulations to everyone who took part! 👏 First across the line was Samesh Chotai in an impressive 17:05 🥇, while Emma Ballantyne was our first female finisher in a brilliant 20:45 🌟
A big thank you goes to this week's Run Director, Mark Lawson 🦺💙. Mark kept everything running smoothly from start to finish, making sure volunteers knew their roles, participants felt welcomed, and another successful Bramley parkrun was enjoyed by all. Thank you, Mark, for giving up your Saturday morning to make it all happen! 👏
We also have to give a special mention to Steve Fairbairn, who certainly brought some extra entertainment to the funnel this week! 🎭😂 As Funnel Manager, Steve didn't just keep everyone moving efficiently through the finish area – he fully embraced the role by creating his own custom funnel manager motivational speech & uniform for the occasion! 👕⭐ Safe to say it raised plenty of smiles and added to the fun atmosphere that makes Bramley parkrun so special.
As always, a massive thank you to every one of our amazing high-vis heroes 🦺❤️. Whether you were marshalling, timekeeping, scanning barcodes, handing out finish tokens, tail walking or helping behind the scenes, parkrun simply couldn't happen without you.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for another brilliant Saturday morning at Bramley parkrun 🌳✨
We can't wait to do it all again next week!

Extreme heat considerations
Hi everyone,
With high temperatures upon us across West Leeds we wanted to send a quick note as you look forward to tomorrow’s event.
The wellbeing of our volunteers and parkrunners is paramount.
We will complete our course check as normal about 8am. If we have to cancel due to the weather extreme weather it is something we will not be taking lightly.
• Terrain: we have very little shade on our course. So you will be in the sun 90% of the time.
• Volunteers: Marshals, finish funnel volunteers are standing in the sun for an hour or more. Keeping them safe and comfortable is essential.
• Our community: Extreme heat is a much bigger strain for children, older parkrunners, walkers and on our hilly route. We are expecting children & their families from Bramley St Peter’s Primary School completing their M5 programme. With this in mind & the potential extreme temperatures please be respectful and keep T-shirts on.
Dogs at our event: Our four legged friends have a much harder time in the heat than we do. As a responsible dog owner it is your decision whether your dog does or doesn’t take part - there will be water for them on the course on the top field and at the finish area. On particularly warm mornings, the safest option might be to leave them at home. The RSPCAhas some excellent online advice on recognising the signs of heatstroke that you can share with your community.
Many Thanks in advance.
Jean & the Bramley parkrun team.

☀️💙💛 Bramley parkrun #469 – 20th June 2026 💛💙☀️
What a lovely start to the day we had at Bramley parkrun this week! ☀️🏃♀️🏃♂️
After last week’s birthday celebrations, it was lovely to be back together again for another brilliant Saturday morning in the park. This week 194 runners and walkers joined us to run, jog and walk the course, supported by our fantastic team of 35 volunteers. 💙💛
A huge thank you to Philip Ramsden, our Run Director this week, who kept everything running smoothly with no unruly Llamas insight. Thank you, Philip! 👏💙💛
Well done to our first finisher Jake Egan, who crossed the line in a fantastic 18:25 🏃♂️👏, followed by Duncan Spence in 19:14 and Jonathan Hitchen in 19:24. A special mention also to Paige Lockwood, who finished fourth overall in a brilliant 19:42. Fantastic running! 🎉
🎉 Milestone Celebration 🎉
This week we celebrated a brilliant volunteer milestone for Tom Bell, who reached his 100th volunteer credit. 🦺💙💛
Reaching 100 volunteer credits is a fantastic achievement and shows real dedication to the parkrun community. Volunteers like Tom are at the heart of Bramley parkrun, giving their time, energy and support so that others can enjoy their Saturday morning run, jog or walk. Thank you, Tom, for your commitment and congratulations on your milestone! 👏🎉
Well Done to Pamela Fothergill on achieving her 25th volunteer milestone. 👏🥳
A massive thank you to all our high-vis heroes 🦺💛, without whom parkrun simply could not happen. From timekeepers and barcode scanners to marshals, tail walkers, finish tokens, token sorting, results processing, photography, course checks and close down — every role matters and every volunteer makes a difference. 🙌
Please consider volunteering in the coming weeks. We are a friendly group, full training is provided, and it really is a brilliant way to get involved, meet people and support your local parkrun. 💙💛
Thank you to everyone who joined us this week. Whether you ran, jogged, walked, volunteered or cheered others on, you helped make Bramley parkrun another wonderful morning of community and smiles . 😊☀️
Well done everyone, and we hope to see you next week! 💙💛
