💙 2 massive big wins for my clients this week I wanted to highlight, both efforts have shown a massive will to push past their comfort zone and I’m immensely proud of both of them

💙First up is Vonnie who started training with me over the last couple of months after having knee surgery 3 years ago, she has struggled with movement, pain and hasn’t had the ability to get on the floor since. This week she pushed herself into a big floor routine workout and not only that but managing to get back to her feet unassisted. This was a huge step for Vonnie both physically and mentally over coming that 👏

💙Next up is Louisa, we’ve trained together on and off over the last 7/8 years but this year I’ve seen a real mental switch with Louisa. I’ve never seen her more locked in to making herself the best she can be both physically and mentally for her loved ones. This has lead to Louisa challenging herself to go sober, not necessarily forever but to be a better version of herself for her Son. This week she hit 7 months sober! Amazing effort

💙 Im so proud of them both, sometimes it’s not always a PB lift or Photoshoot pics. It’s about helping be there to create a better life for my clients

🏴 What else did I miss?

🏃 If your goal is fat loss your main priority should not be cardio, of course cardio helps with creating a calorie deficit by using energy.

🏃‍♀️ But if you’re doing 20 minutes stepper after your workouts but still eating even a 2/300 calories over your maintenance each day then you will not see any results. It doesn’t even need to be anything drastic, bigger portions, a little bite when the office cakes get brought in and you can easily undo the cardio

🥩 Best bet is to prioritise your nutrition, high protein whilst in a calorie deficit to minimise any muscle wastage

🫁 Cardio is however massively underused as a health tool, even when I have clients whose main goals are to gain as much muscle and strength as possible I will always incorporate a little bit of cardio. Because what good is it having a 6 pack if your heart and lungs are ready to pack in!

🏋️‍♀️ What’s the best training split?

2️⃣ Major things I look for:

What’s a realistic amount of sessions you can consistently get in the week?

How does your body cope with soreness and fatigue and are there other factors that may need you to manage fatigue

🤝 It’s individual to each person what split will work best for them. You want a well balanced training programme that you can adhere to consistently. Whichever split gives you that is the one that’s best for you
