Interlink CC Strengthen Grip on Top Spot with Commanding Win over OneStop CC

Interlink CC 1st XI moved another step closer to the league title with a dominant 127-run victory over OneStop CC, combining a powerful batting display with a ruthless bowling performance to remain firmly at the top of the table.

Batting first, Interlink posted an imposing 270 from their 45 overs. After a measured start, Yunus Bismillah took charge, producing an outstanding 98 from 112 balls, including 10 fours and two sixes.

He found an excellent partner in Akbar Ahmed, who struck a superb 50 from 55 balls. Their crucial 100-run partnership shifted the momentum decisively in Interlink’s favour and laid the foundation for a formidable total.

Talhah Bismillah added a valuable 22 before Mohammad Memi launched a spectacular late assault. Memi smashed 50 from just 19 balls, clearing the boundary eight times and adding two sixes as Interlink surged to 270.

OneStop’s reply never gathered momentum. Interlink’s bowlers attacked from the outset, and Yunus completed a remarkable all-round performance by following his near-century with a sensational spell of 5 wickets for just 9 runs from 4.4 overs.

Mohammad Nazir claimed two wickets for 24 runs, while Akbar Ahmed added two more to cap an outstanding contribution with both bat and ball.

Despite a determined 52 from S Mehmood, OneStop were bowled out for 143 in 34.4 overs, giving Interlink a comprehensive 127-run victory.

The result keeps Interlink CC top of the league and brings the title firmly into view. With three matches remaining, Interlink need 13 points from their final fixtures to secure the championship.

Interlink CC Dominate Drighlington in Comprehensive 145-Run Victory

Interlink CC produced a superb all-round performance against Drighlington CC, overcoming an early batting collapse before posting a formidable 365 for 9 from their 45 overs and then restricting Drighlington to 220 for 9 from 32.1 overs to secure a convincing 145-run victory.

Interlink won the toss and elected to bat, but the decision initially looked questionable as they were quickly reduced to 15 for 3. Irfan Jamadar, Yunus Bismillah and Allah Ditta all departed cheaply, leaving Interlink in a difficult position with the top order back in the pavilion.

However, what followed was an outstanding recovery. A Ahmed and T Bismillah steadied the innings and then went on the offensive, building a huge partnership that completely changed the complexion of the game. Ahmed played an excellent innings of 89 from 83 balls, hitting 14 boundaries and two sixes, while Bismillah produced one of the finest knocks of the season, smashing an unbeaten 152 from just 112 deliveries, including 16 fours and 8 sixes.

The pair’s partnership provided Interlink with the platform they needed to accelerate in the latter stages. With wickets in hand, Interlink continued to attack, and useful contributions from M Nazir (38 off 29), M Imran (19 off 12) and M Pandor (23 off 13) pushed the total beyond the 350 mark. R Shaukat finished unbeaten on 4, as Interlink closed their 45 overs on a massive 365 for 9, with 37 extras also contributing to the total.

Drighlington began their chase positively and got off to a good start with the bat, showing plenty of intent and looking capable of making a serious challenge of the huge target. Their early progress meant Interlink had to remain patient and disciplined with the ball.

The breakthrough eventually came, and from there Interlink began to take wickets at regular intervals. R Whitehurst top-scored with an impressive 65 from 50 balls, striking 13 fours, while P Lad added a valuable 62 from 67 balls, including eight fours and three sixes. Their contributions kept Drighlington’s hopes alive for a period.

However, Interlink’s bowling attack gradually tightened its grip on the game. M Nazir was particularly impressive, finishing with 3 wickets for 34 runs from his 9 overs, while A Ahmed followed up his brilliant 89 with an exceptional spell of 3 wickets for just 4 runs from 3.1 overs.

Y Bismillah also played a key role with the ball, taking 2 wickets for 16 runs, while Allah Ditta claimed one wicket. As the wickets began to fall, Drighlington’s momentum disappeared and the required run rate became increasingly difficult to maintain.

Despite a spirited effort, Drighlington eventually finished on 220 for 9 from 32.1 overs, giving Interlink a comprehensive 145-run victory.

The result was a testament to Interlink’s character. From being 15 for 3, they recovered brilliantly to post 365, before showing patience and discipline to dismantle a Drighlington side that had started the chase strongly.

T Bismillah’s magnificent unbeaten 152 was the headline performance, while A Ahmed’s 89 and sensational 3 for 4 with the ball made him equally influential. Nazir’s three wickets and Y Bismillah’s two wickets ensured Interlink completed a thoroughly deserved victory.

A fantastic comeback, a huge total and a disciplined bowling display — another memorable performance from Interlink CC.
