Thailand Days in the UK – MSA Presents Muay Thai - MMFN From a Muay Thai demonstration four years ago to more than 150 fighters and almost 100 interclub bouts — coach Rafał and MSA Leeds continue to grow alongside the Magic of Thailand Festival in Manchester.

What a weekend! 🙏🏻🔥

The whole event became a huge success and the amount of positive feedback, support and interaction has been incredible.

First of all, a massive thank you to Magic of Thailand Festivals and Nick Brent for giving us the opportunity and trust to bring this idea to life.

Special thanks also to my master, Senior Grand Master Sken kaewpadung , from whom I continue to learn and take inspiration. His knowledge and example have always helped guide me forward.

Thank you to every coach and fighter who took part. The atmosphere, respect and cooperation were phenomenal, while the standard of the fights showed just how strong Muay Thai is in the UK.

Finally, the biggest thank you goes to my own team. None of this would have been possible without your hard work, commitment and support. You worked tirelessly throughout the whole weekend and helped turn an idea into something special.

We are moving to the next level — and this is definitely not the end of our development. We are only getting started! 🙏🏻🔥🇹🇭

Another fantastic day of interclubs, with every club, coach and fighter playing their part in creating a brilliant atmosphere.

A huge thank you to all the clubs that joined us. The cooperation, respect and positive attitude throughout the day were incredible. Every fighter stepped into the ring, gave their best and represented their gym with pride.

The weather truly spoiled us, and the huge number of people visiting the festival created an unforgettable atmosphere around the fights. The support and energy from the crowd were amazing from beginning to end.

The atmosphere was brilliant, with a huge crowd supporting and cheering on every fight. The food, performances and everything happening around the festival made the whole event even more special.

What a difference a couple of days can make. 🙏🏻

Thanks to the incredible help from my students, friends and my wife, we managed to clean up, repair the damage and bring our gym back to life much quicker than I could have expected.

We were very lucky. The quick reaction of the lads that night, followed by the fast response of the fire brigade, saved our gym from what could have been a completely different story.

But what happened afterwards meant just as much to me.

People turned up, rolled their sleeves up and got to work. The support was incredible and the results were immediate — today we were already back on the mats and training again. 👊🏻🔥

I also want to say a massive thank you for every phone call, message and offer of help I received. It gave me a huge amount of energy and reminded me just how strong the community we have built around this gym really is.

This place has never been just four walls and a training mat. It is the people inside it.

And now… no slowing down.

Training is back on, the gym is alive again, and we are already working full steam ahead getting ready for this weekend’s festival. 💪🏻🔥

WE ARE BACK. 👊🏻

Last night, we came very close to losing our gym.

A fire was started in bins next to one of the units at Sugar Mill. It quickly spread to the wall and roof of the empty unit directly beside us and was beginning to move towards the roof of our gym.

We were extremely lucky.

A few of our lads were training inside at the time. They heard and smelled the fire, immediately realised something was wrong and raised the alarm. Because of their quick reaction, the fire brigade arrived in time to stop the fire before it could spread further.

I cannot thank these lads enough. Their actions may have saved not only our gym, but also the neighbouring businesses and potentially prevented something much more serious. Most importantly, they were themselves in a dangerous situation and still reacted exactly as they should.

To me, they are the heroes of our gym and Sugar Mill. 👊🏻🙏🏻

There are residential homes directly behind the site, so it is frightening to think how serious this could have become if the fire had continued unnoticed.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt. The damage to our gym is relatively minor, and we have already started cleaning up and putting things back together. We plan to be back doing what we do very soon. 💪🏻

We had a huge amount of luck in a very bad situation.

It is deeply disappointing that something so dangerous appears to have started through the actions of young people entering the site without permission. They may not have understood the possible consequences of what they were doing, but that does not make those consequences any less serious. What happened could have destroyed businesses, homes and, most importantly, could have cost lives.

There must be consequences, and I trust that the appropriate authorities will deal with that.

For now, I am simply grateful.

Grateful to the lads who reacted so quickly.
Grateful to the firefighters who stopped it in time.
And grateful that today we are cleaning up our gym rather than mourning something far worse.
