Our latest signing is a fantastic one, as we welcome James Hawes to the Oak! 🌳

Having played for fellow Sunday side Horsforth Fairweather for the last eight years, scoring 9️⃣3️⃣ goals in 88 apps.
He knows where the back of the net is! 😮‍💨

As well as experience on a Saturday with Leeds City FC, having played across the First & Second teams over recent years.

Hawesy also has the ability to play CM or CB & will be a brilliant addition to the team!

Final game of pre-season tomorrow night as we play Saturday side Leeds City Reserves.

An improved performance needed from Sunday and the final chance for players to earn their starting spots once the league kicks off on 6th Sept.

Tough game in the heat today, but more importantly a sign of the levels we need to be at in a couple of weeks time when the league starts.

Decent spells towards the end of both halves, but also some tired legs against a good & lively Harehills team.

1-1 at HT, Reuben Young with the equaliser from the spot. Tom Helliwell levelled it up again in the last 15’, before Harehills found the winner in the last 10.

Few lads out injured or away, but a decent squad to get more minutes in the tank.

All round good team performance today to run out with a 4-1 win.

Few shaky moments in the first half, but a solid defensive display from the back four.

New signing Christian Argyel did well to follow in a long shot to make it 1-0 going into the break.

Second half, we looked decent on the break and were ruthless in attack. Reuben Young scoring a hat-trick to make sure of the result.

We conceded in the last few seconds, but plenty of positives to take forward to our fourth pre-season game next Sunday 💪

Game 3️⃣ of pre-season this Sunday as we play Leeds Combi Div 1 side, Yeadon MFC.

Will be another step up in quality from the two previous games, as we hope to keep the momentum going and give the squad plenty of minutes.

🗓️ Our opening three fixtures of the season have been announced.

We kick things off with a home game against a familiar opposition in Kurdistan FC.
Opening away game against a very good side in Horsforth St Margaret Sundays.
Followed by welcoming newly promoted Atlanta to Bedquilts.

Vaughn Clarke-Williams joins us after experience playing in the Premier Division of the Bradford Sunday Alliance and at a decent Saturday’s level down south in Essex.

A good all-round defender, the centre-half has impressed already in pre-season! 💪
