A few more moments from a memorable Northern Counties Junior Jamboree here at Scarcroft Golf Club.

Fantastic golf, new friendships, plenty of team spirit and six counties coming together to celebrate the junior game. 🏌️♀️

Thank you once again to everyone from Yorkshire, Durham, Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria and Northumberland who joined us – and to all the volunteers, officials, members and staff who helped make the event such a success.

We hope everyone left Scarcroft with some great memories. 💚⛳

Hosting the Northern Counties Junior Jamboree gave us the chance to watch some incredibly talented young golfers in action – but every golfer has to start somewhere.

At Scarcroft Golf Club, we’re passionate about giving more girls the opportunity to discover golf, whatever their experience.

This September, Ladies Captain Jane Langley and PGA Professional James will be offering FREE golf lessons for girls who are complete beginners, as well as opportunities for our existing junior girls to continue developing their game.

No previous golf experience needed – just come along and give it a go! ⛳

It takes a whole club to make an event like this happen. 💚

Behind two fantastic days of junior golf at Scarcroft were members and staff giving their time to make sure our visitors received the warmest possible welcome.

From walkers and scorers accompanying the players, to our clubhouse and course teams – and even our Manager Stuart Peck out collecting range balls at 8am on both mornings – everyone played their part.

Ladies Captain Jane Langley said:

“I felt proud of every aspect of Scarcroft Golf Club during both the planning stages and two event days.”

One of the recurring compliments following the Northern Counties Junior Jamboree was just how well Scarcroft Golf Club was presented.

Despite the exceptionally dry conditions, our tees and greens received some fantastic praise from visitors, with Immediate Past President Marion Raye commenting:

“The tees and greens were amazingly green – congratulations to your Greenkeepers.”

A great reflection of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to prepare the course for occasions like this. ⛳🌱

We’ve received some fantastic feedback following the Northern Counties Junior Jamboree at Scarcroft Golf Club, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who helped make the event possible.

YLGCA President Dawn Clegg praised the friendliness and support shown by our members and staff, while also recognising the superb work of our greenkeeping team in presenting the course so well despite the exceptionally dry conditions.

Event organiser Annette summed it up perfectly: “Nothing was too much trouble.”

🏌️♀️ A fantastic two days at Scarcroft Golf Club!

We were incredibly proud to host the Northern Counties Junior Jamboree, welcoming talented young golfers representing Yorkshire, Durham, Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria and Northumberland.

The standard of golf across the two days was exceptional, but just as impressive was the fantastic spirit in which the event was played.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Jamboree such a success – from our staff and greenkeeping team to the many Scarcroft members who generously gave their time to support the players and organisers.

And, of course, congratulations to all the girls who represented their counties so brilliantly. 👏⛳

It was a privilege to welcome you all to Scarcroft.

Steve Hayes’ first hole-in-one! 🏌️♂️🎉

Playing a social round with Julia Hayes and visiting golfer Nigel Peters from Sand Moor Golf Club, Steve struck a perfect 8-iron from 132 yards on the 13th hole to claim his very first ace!

Naturally, he celebrated in style - with a traditional whiskey for everyone in the clubhouse afterwards. 🥃

Congratulations, Steve! What a shot! 👏
