"I nearly didn't book."
It's one of the most common things we hear before a first reformer class. The equipment looks like something you need to already understand before you're allowed near it. All those springs and straps, and everyone else who clearly knows what they're doing. So the booking gets put off. You watch the reels, tell yourself you'll start when you're a bit fitter, and another few months go by.
You do not need to arrive knowing anything. That is the whole point of learning it properly, in a small room, with someone who has the time to show you.
Our Reformer Fundamentals workshop is exactly that starting point. Ninety relaxed minutes with Dee, built for beginners, capped at eight. She takes you through how the equipment works, safely and without rushing, so when you walk into a regular reformer class you feel ready rather than lost. No jargon. Plenty of time to actually feel each movement in your body.
Swipe through the confessions. If any of them sound like you, this one was written for you.
Saturday 19 September, 1pm to 2.30pm. Spaces are limited to 7, so please book ahead through the MindBody app or chapelallertonpilates.co.uk.

Trying something new can feel more daunting than anyone lets on, especially when you're half convinced everyone else already knows what they're doing.
Our Open Day is the gentle way in.
A free 80-minute taster, a teacher beside you the whole time, and space to explore the Reformer, the Springwall and the rest of the studio at your own pace. No experience needed. Nothing to be good at first.
Just an hour that is entirely yours. Time to move, to stretch out a week spent at a desk, to feel what Pilates actually does for your body rather than wonder about it from the outside.
This is where a lifelong practice begins for a lot of people. It might begin here for you too.
Saturday 12 September, here at Chapel Allerton Pilates in North Leeds. It is free, though the groups are small, capped at eight, so booking is essential.
Comment TASTER and we will send you everything you need to book your place 💚

You've seen the Reformer. Maybe someone has mentioned the Springwall. And a quiet part of you has wondered whether any of it is for you.
This is your chance to find out.
On Saturday 12 September our studio doors in Chapel Allerton are open, and it is free. A day to try the classes you have not tried before, with a teacher beside you the whole way.
Free 80-minute tasters, running 10am to 3.30pm:
Springwall
Reformer
Studio and gym equipment
Plus a dedicated pre and postnatal taster
Classes here are small, capped at eight, so you are never lost at the back. There is time in each session to understand how our classes work and how a 1-2-1 can help if you are moving around an injury, a health condition or a particular goal.
You do not need to arrive fit, flexible or sure of yourself. We meet you where you are and help you build from there.
Booking is essential, as spaces are limited to keep the classes small.
Book your free taster by commenting PILATES or directly on the MindBody app 🌿

One of the things teachers often share with me is that they have certain “big moves” or specific “nemesis movements” that they avoid.
Sound familiar?
You are not alone. The desire is there yet the map isn’t. It feels so far away!
This is exactly what we are going to cover together Pilates Gathering 25/26 September.
One step you can take right away is to look at your favourite movements & your nemesis moment & join the dots. I promise there will be some. Or play spot the similarities & connections instead of spot the difference.
The Pilates Gathering is where we go deep & practical in the most intimate community conference. See you there 😌
What’s your nemesis move? Tell me below & let’s see how we can get you there!
