Last year, while away on holiday with my teenage children, I wrote about how much I missed the busy chaos of having little ones.
I just want to share a little update… ❤️
My daughter turned 18 recently, and we went on our first mother-daughter holiday — just the two of us! 🌴
Watching your children grow up is the ultimate privilege. We’ve had the most beautiful time together, and the parenting dynamic has shifted (in the best way… ) now she’s the one helping me with my phone and bringing me drinks 😂
The journey changes, but the love just keeps getting deeper.
Enjoy every chapter, Tori xx

✨ Meet the Brock String: Fun Vision Training ✨
Using a Brock string is one of my favorite simple yet powerful tools in vision therapy — and I always make it fun for the kids!
This colorful bead-and-string setup helps strengthen:
• 👀 Eye teaming (binocular vision)
• 🔭 Convergence (bringing the eyes together for near focus)
• 🎯 Focus shifting & smooth tracking
• 🌈 Depth perception
• 📚 Overall visual coordination
It’s especially beneficial for children experiencing convergence insufficiency, lazy eye (amblyopia), eye turns (strabismus), or vision-related reading and learning challenges.
With bright beads and a game-like approach, children enjoy the process while building stronger visual skills that support better focus and confidence. Tori 😊

This is a simple yet effective vision therapy tool (made fun!) I use to help children to improve eye teaming (binocular vision), convergence (bringing eyes together to focus on near objects), focus shifting, depth perception, and overall visual coordination. It’s particularly helpful for children with convergence insufficiency, lazy eye (amblyopia), eye turns (strabismus), or reading/learning difficulties related to vision. Tori 😊

Good luck Lewis! 💪🏼❤️
Our Duty Officer, Lewis, is running the Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon on May 10th in memory of our friend and colleague Vicky who passed away 3 years ago.
He is raising money for Sue Ryder, a charity who supported Vicky and her family throughout.

Ten years ago, a tired, make-up-free mum with her hair scraped back in a messy ponytail stood at the school summer fair… and the last thing she wanted was to be in a photo.
That mum was me.
I was exhausted. I felt scruffy. I was in full “put everyone else first” mode.
But the wonderful Lizzie from wasn’t having any of it. She gently bullied me (with the kindest persuasion 😂) into jumping in for at least one photo with my kids.
I reluctantly agreed.
And now?
I look at that photo and love it!
The messy hair, the bare face, the realness… I love every bit of it.
All those times I said “no” to being in photos because I felt too tired, too bloated, or not ‘picture perfect’ enough. They’re honestly my biggest regrets.
So this is your sign 💕
Be in the photos.
The version of you that’s tired, makeup-free, and running on pure love? That’s the version your kids will treasure most. And one day, you’ll look back and realise she was beautiful exactly as she was.
Thank you, Lizzie, for pushing me that day. Best decision I never wanted to make! 🥹
