A huge congratulations to former Wortley FC player Kailen Hatfield, who travelled to Budapest and Vienna with Sheffield Wednesday's first team! 💙⚽

After developing through the grassroots game at Wortley FC, Kailen is now living his dream playing at the top of the football pyramid. To be training and travelling with the first team alongside talented young former Leeds United player Harry Gray and Leeds United legend Liam Cooper is a fantastic milestone in his young career.

Kailen, this is a truly deserved achievement. Your hard work, dedication and commitment have earned you this opportunity, and everyone at Wortley FC couldn't be prouder of everything you've accomplished so far.

We wish you every success on this exciting journey and can't wait to see what comes next. Once a Wortley player, always part of the Wortley family. 💙👏

What a drama-filled tournament day for Wortley FC U14 Juniors in the North Derbyshire Football League Tournament! ⚽🏆

After a strong start, they looked certain to qualify, but they took their foot off the gas and found themselves relying on other results to secure a place in the quarter-finals.

From there, the lads showed incredible character. They stepped it up when it mattered most, won the quarter-final, held their nerve to win the semi-final on penalties, and then capped off a fantastic day by lifting the trophy! 🏆💙

There was also some fantastic praise from a Sheffield United scout in attendance, who said they had looked like the favourites to win from the group stages. It was brilliant to hear such positive comments, and the players certainly backed that up with the way they responded when it mattered most.

A huge thank you to all the parents who stuck with them through the weather and supported the team from start to finish. Your encouragement means everything.
