Give a big shout out to the women's second team who are playing the West Yorkshire Women and Girls Cricket division 2 and 3 festival at Gomersall cricket club today. Well done on a win in your first game today ladies, let's hope you are having a brilliant day!

The women's first team left spectators til a nail biting final ball to secure a win over Birstall today! We had a team best pair score with our first batters as Paula and Julie put on a spectacular 50 runs to set us off. Some great bowling and fielding from Birstall put the pressure back on in the middle 2 pairs, leaving it to Caroline and Ali to see the game out! Loved seeing 3 runs off the final ball when we only needed one to win! Top fielding from both teams stopped alot of boundaries, what a great game! Onwards to next weekend when we're at Colton Sports and Social Club for a women's team double header in West Yorkshire Women and Girls Cricket league.

What a win for the 1st XI yesterday, taking a massive 162-run victory against Sessay CC!
A huge shoutout to Tom Dixon, who absolutely turned the game with the ball. Outstanding figures of 8 for 31 off 10.3 overs to help bowl them out for 77.
Great figures and a brilliant effort, Tom. Well done! π

What a performance from our Under 13s Reds! π΄π They secured a 102-run victory against Great Preston CC, bowling the opposition out for 34.
The standout moment of the match belongs to our Hat-Trick Hero, Sophia! π©β¨π
She finished the night with figures of 4 wickets for just 13 runs off her 4 overs.
A fantastic effort from Sophia and the Reds to secure all 3 points. πππ

What a day we had hosting West Yorkshire Women and Girls Cricket division women's softball festival at Colton Sports and Social Club! Bets placed early in the week predicted the rain would be the only winner but nope, it stayed away and the sun even came out as well.
It was brilliant to see so many women's and girl's teams having a great time playing cricket, and it was too close to call in both group stages in the middle of the day. Even at the end of the group stages we weren't quite sure who was in the final as play cricket wasn't playing at all π€¦ββοΈ, but the Colton Cricket Club and Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club women were thrilled when all became clear! Hunslet played with 7 after losing a player early in the day to a nasty knee injury, and after a fantastic fielding innings holding Hunslet's runs at bay, the home team romped home in the batting to bring the trophy back after it's year's sabbatical at Hunslet. Well done ladies you were awesome!π₯°π₯πͺπ₯³π₯³π₯³ππππ»π»π»
Thanks to the league for getting the festival organised and all at Colton who helped get the day going. The several weeks of planning, organising and too many whatsapp messages to count were all worth it!
The ground looked fab thanks to an early start by the grounds team, the women's team, friends and families did their usual round of delicious home baking and donating raffle prizes, and we welcomed back Owen for his 3rd year as BBQ king π cooking delicious food from Malcolm Michaels butchers in Crossgates. We couldn't do this without everyone pulling together π₯°π₯πͺ and that's what its all about.
Well done to all 8 teams for getting there with players, umpires, scorers and supporters, and thanks to our umpires who helped out other teams to get the game on.
Colton and Hunslet will go forward to the next stage of the competition in July and hopefully Leeds East proud as they play against the other division winners across the region. Good luck to all!
