It’s taken me a few days to get my head round doing a race report for Tommys last event, the BRCA Junior and Veterans Nationals, a National event run at the fantastic NDOR THE HOME OF 1/8 AND 1/10 OFF ROAD, big thanks to Nick,Mike and there team for providing a great facility and 2 awesome tracks, also to Rick Greenwood and Nathan Ralls for the commentary. It had been a busy week for Tommy doing his transition days to high school so I had a tired grumpy little man to deal with 🤣2wd on Saturday started well with a 5 and then a 6 in round, a 3rd round bobble then another 5th in round 4 lined Tommy up 7th in the A final, the 3 leg finals just never happened for Tommy, a fifth in leg 1 was the best he got, the next 2 legs were hindered with crashes and poor driving from other drivers 😡, there was a definite sense of desperation from a couple of people, I’ll say no more other than it was very disappointing. 4wd on Sunday went pretty much the same, driving standards was a joke and nothing done about it. Tommy has had it hammered into him from day one that if you take someone out you wait and you apologise after the race. This never happened on several occasions from other drivers,We came away with double A finals which I was more than happy with. The rest we will leave behind us and move on to our next event.

BRCA ME-OR.co.uk round 3 race report from the fantastic NDOR THE HOME OF 1/8 AND 1/10 OFF ROAD raceway, just Tommy and myself this weekend in the vanibago 🤩 2wd on Saturday went pretty well, there was a star studded entry again for this round. Tommy managed a 39 and a 41 in round to count from the 91 entries, he was happy to line up E10, after a rough first lap the boy got his head down and worked his way up to 4th very close to 3rd, the day finished with a happy Tommy and 3rd U13 again.
After a fun night with his friends and helping to build the 4wd track Sunday dawned, 4wd was not the day we had in mind unfortunately, after a good first run of 23 in round the next rounds were plagued with bad luck, rain and wrong tyres in round 2, a perfect run in round 3 was halted in the last 20 seconds with a pack of battling back markers being lapped cast Tommy 10 seconds 🥴 and any chance of a decent time, he ended the round 32nd even after the issue. With the pressure on for round 4 Tommy was ready for the challenge, after a good start unfortunately the bad luck came again, he was missed by the Marshalls and left on his roof for 13 seconds, a very upset little man carried on but the round would not give him a better score than previous rounds. This lined him up D3, he really had his heart set on the C final but that’s racing! The final went the same way as the earlier races, after being patient he saw a gap for the lead and took a chance then was hit up the rear at warp factor 10 , that knocked off a rear ball joint, the challenge was over, the car was fixed but 3/4 of a lap down it was just practice laps, I didn’t expect him to pull his way back to 5th! Only to go for a last lap move that didn’t work he ended up 8th I was very proud how he handled the day, yes we had tears but we also had more confidence and speed in his driving and what’s more a bloody good weekend with bloody good friends ❤️👊🏻👌

Thanks to all those that help and support Tommy ❤️
