Andrew quite literally set the whole of our division alight with the bat in 2026…𝟲𝟳𝟬 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘀 @ 𝟲𝟬.𝟵𝟭, amassing 7 fifties too, incredible effort 👏🏼

What makes this even sweeter is that last year he was batted at 10 & 11 during his time at Church Fenton, so we’d like to place our thanks to them for helping Andy in his development this season! 💚

📈ᴛʀɪᴜᴍᴘʜᴀɴᴛ 8 ᴡɪᴄᴋᴇᴛ ᴡɪɴ ᴛᴏ ᴄᴀᴘ ᴀɴ ᴏᴜᴛꜱᴛᴀɴᴅɪɴɢ ꜱᴇᴀꜱᴏɴ📈

Our final game of the season saw us travel to Sherburn Eversley Cricket Club - brilliant hosts, excellent blokes and good drinkers, see you next year gents 👏🏼

Sherburn opting to bat first were quickly in trouble at 34/7 as our dynamic duo of Liam Fox & Adam Rothera did the damage up top once again this year. Despite a little fightback from Sherburn’s 8&10, we bowled them out for a massively under par 101 all out inside 32 overs. Liam & Adam the stars once again ending so 4/44 and 4/43 respectively.

A slightly re-jigged order saw the hero of Goole (Arron Smith) a go up top but his story was cut when AK put him on the BBQ for a very gritty 3 (27). This left Andrew Kelly quite fittingly to knock the rest of the total off leaving him 44*, to cap a remarkable season with the bat for him. Ably supported by Connah Casey who finished with 26* to cap a perfect 8 wicket win.

This marked our highest ever finish in Division 2, topping our previous best of 6th in 2020, also under Fred’s reign. A great season and can we go one better next year? 👀

🏏 🧁 🍔 𝚅𝙸𝙻𝙻𝙰𝙶𝙴 𝙲𝚁𝙸𝙲𝙺𝙴𝚃 𝙱𝙾𝙽𝙰𝙽𝚉𝙰 🍔 🧁 🏏

What a fantastic day we had at Claypit Lane yesterday..a mixed fundraiser with the village to raise funds for both parties. A highly competitive game resulted in a 4 run win for the Ledsham C.C. side off the penultimate ball of the game.

A massive thank you to everyone involved who helped on the day, provided raffle prizes, took part or simply just turned up - we love you all. Keep your eyes peeled for an even bigger & better joint event next year 👀

Our best ever finish in Division 2, unfortunately we finish in 3rd place behind Goole & Castleford but a great season for all involved.

🏏 1𝓼𝓽 𝓧𝓘 𝓿𝓼 𝓢𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓫𝓾𝓻𝓷 𝓔𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓵𝓮𝔂 (𝓐) 🏏

Our final game of the 2026 season and seen as it’s the trend at the minute how things would have looked in the 80’s, heres how our team-sheet would have looked 46 years ago.

We travel to Sherburn Eversley Cricket Club who provided us with a competitive game in the reverse fixture and were a cracking set of lads who all stopped for a couple of drinks post game (this is rare). Our fate is set for 3rd place so it’s a free hit game, but can we avoid the weather?

Get down to Eversley Park in Sherburn for the earlier start time of 12pm if you are at a loose end and want to watch the curtain come down on 2026. If not we will see you all tomorrow at Ledsham for our village fundraiser.

🍪 🍰 🧁 🥧 Bake Me Happy

On Sunday at our Village fundraiser cricket game, we have the delight of welcoming Lily from Bake Me Happy, based in Kippax. The brownies and sweet treats look absolutely fantastic - we cannot wait to sample these.

Remember the day starts at 11am all the way through til about 4pm so come on down to Claypit Lane, for a what we’re hoping is a Super Sunday! 💚

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒All welcome - A fun day with cricket, kids activities, music, food and refreshments.

⏰ Match will start at 11am, teams of 10 playing in pairs so everyone gets a go at batting, fielding and bowling. Both sides have now been in practice and named so expect fireworks.
