RYAN TAKES DOWN EVENT 5

It's well done to Ryan McKillop on winning EVENT 5 of MARTY'S 2026 Q.CLUB TOUR yesterday Sunday 30th August. In an all Larne Final Ryan defeated Dean McDonagh in a Best of Three match after agreeing a split of £140/£130 Winner/Runner Up. Derriaghy’s Stephen Johnston reached his second Semi Final on the trot to receive £45 with £45 also going to local player Eddie Gribben.

Ryan is our 5th different Winner from the 5 Events which shows the competitiveness and growing appeal of the Tour.

Its congratulations to Ciaran O’Toole who won last nights flyer defeating Stephen McLaughlin in a 1 frame final from a field of 23.

Both men decided to split £55 each with Ciaran taking the extra £5 for winning the frame. That’s our flyer summer series over and £856 has been lifted for finals day. A further £100 will be added from the club and then the £5 entry on the day to go on too.

Finals day is on Sunday 27th September with 37 players qualified to enter.

With the Carrick & District Pool League starting next Tuesday 1st September William Irvine's Q. Club Team and Kenny English's Spartans from Whitehead Rangers SC met in this Friendly "to get the arms going" in preparation for the new season.

19 Teams will battle it in the Carrick League so for those who haven't played much over the summer it was good to get the cobwebs out of the way.

On the night Spartans ran out 19-9 winners. The format was four sessions of seven and scores were as follows - (Q. Club first) 1-6, 1-6, 3-4, 4-3

Top of the pots on the night were Mark Millar & Alan Johnston both registering 4 from 4.

Q. Club open up their League campaign away to Pink Ladies in Greenisland WMC whilst Spartans are also on the road with a visit to Grange Bar in Ballyclare.
