A great time on and off the water showcasing what Largs and Scottish waters have to offer!
This brings an end to a busy few weeks at the club until we go again for the optimist nationals at the beginning of August!

RICHARD MILLE CUP – RACES 7 AND 8 – AND FINAL RESULTS // INTERNATIONAL 14 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Continuing light winds meant there was no prospect to hold the planned Round Arran and Round Lady Isle races, but well done to the race committee for finding some wind behind Cumbrae (so sorry, no race photos) on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In class 1, Atlantic took race 7 on corrected time, but Elena of London won race 8, so they finished all square at 4 wins and 4 seconds each! Elena took the regatta class prize as she won the last race.
Class 2 continued to be dominated by Mariquita, who won 6 of the 7 races sailed (class 2 sat out race 4). Sonny was clear leader in class 3, with 6 wins over the 8 races. Kismet also won 6 of her 8 races in class 4, so won her class. The overall winner of the regatta was Sonny, on lowest points total.
Final results are available on the official notice board (https://www.richardmillecup.com/blog/official-notice-board-17), and there are many superb close-up photos of the action e.g. the Richard Mille Cup page (https://www.facebook.com/RichardMilleCup).
A huge thank you to all the competitors, the many volunteers and others, ashore and afloat, who made the event (and the preceding Fife Regatta) happen, and sponsors Richard Mille. It was a privilege and a thrill to see your spectacular boats.
Adieu for now, safe passages to your home ports, and we look forward to welcoming you all back in the not too distant future.
There’s no rest for the team at Largs Sailing Club, as we are now into the UK National Championships for the International 14 dinghy class. These historic dinghies have evolved from the classic wooden boats of the 1920’s to carbon fibre machines with huge sails, so come and watch! Racing continues to Monday 29th June, and includes the prestigious Prince of Wales Cup on Saturday.
