Lanark Thistle Bowling club is the oldest bowling club in Scotland. Registered SCIO SCO53196

Situated on the former site of Lanark Castle, right in the very heart of the town of Lanark, the club was formed in 1760.

Sunday was our Harry Smith Memorial Tournament.
We weren't sure it was going ahead due to weather warnings issued... but don't believe the weather! We carried on to see what would happen and guess what the sun was out and it was warm until the final when the rain came.

Thank you to all members for playing and the volunteers helping with teas and coffees and the bar and Eileen Small and Billy Neilson for Running the game.

Winners: 🏆 Robert Parker and Richard Bell

Runners Up: Stewart Brackenridge and Ross Neilson.

The John Cunningham Memorial (BORDER) Trophy was Saturday and we had amazing weather for all our members and guests who were playing.
Huge thank you to Border Biscuits for their ongoing sponsership of our club shirts and this annual tournament.
Special thank you to Fraser McLeod (BORDER) for presenting the players with the John Cunningham Memorial Trophy.

Big Thank you to J. McFarlane Catering again for the fantastic meal as always.
Thank you to Gordon Lammie for running the games. Fiona for the soups, and all the volunteers who helped with the serving and washing up. We appreciate everyone of you!
Thank you to the bar staff for keeping us well watered.
Thank you also to DJ Alan for the evening entertainment.

The John Cunningham Memorial Tournament (Border) starts today for 9:30

Morning rolls provided, with Soup lunch and 2 course meal.
Entertainment will follow after finals are played.

Anyone wishing to come down later in the evening for a few drinks and a dance is more than welcome!
