Another solid performance from the Fire team tonight in the league against good opposition in Raith united.

Fire dominated possession throughout the game although the first half was scrappy and probably could have went either way. Few chances for either team in the first half but Fire enjoying the majority of the game in the united half although the opposition looked dangerous on the counter attack. Jack opened up the scoring with a low drive across goal after Ruaridh cut the ball back across goal towards the edge of the box. HT 1-0 fire.

Half time message - fewer touches in the middle of the park and to look for areas of space out wide. The boys took the advice on instantly and along with the introduction of Cyprus at half time it seemed to open up the game and see much better football played. Tyler broke away from his man and bombed up the right to unleash a ferocious strike that the GK managed to get hands to only for it to fall to Kenzi who calmly placed it over the GK to make it 2-0. Fire now in full control and the boys started really looking to dominate in wide areas, a lovely through ball saw Harley through on goal to finish into the corner of the net but the ref unfortunately judged him to be offside. Moments later Cyprus clipped another ball into the box and after abit of a scramble Hazza managed to poke the ball into the net from a yard out, 3-0. The scoring was rounded of by Danny who probably scored the goal of the game with a thunderous strike into the far corner from the edge of the box, 4-0 πŸ‘πŸ». Aayden also went close with a shot crashing off the bar from distance and Cyprus was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet after the GK pulled of a great save from the spot after Liam was brought down in the box after a surging run past the defender.

A really good game to watch played in good spirits by both teams, all the best to Raith United for the rest of the season.

Another clean sheet for Cammy tonight! Testament to the work he’s been putting in and also the boys infront of him who were solid tonight. Shout out to Scotty P, Shane, Rudy and Aayden. πŸ’ͺ🏻

Refs POTM - Hazza! Always solid in the middle, took control of the game in the second half with some beautiful through balls and chipped in with a goal.

Coaches POTM - Jack, started on the bench but changed the game. Scored the first goal and was very confident down the left side delivering lots of dangerous crosses.

Well done to all the players πŸ‘πŸ»

Match day 3

2 wins in quick succession for the fire boys this week and the league is well and truly under way.

A close affair score wise today away to Duloch juniors with a single late goal deciding the tie. Although Raith enjoyed the majority of possession clear chances were few and far between as both teams battled it out in the midfield. Kenzi went close in the first half but the Duloch gk pulled of a terrific save to push the ball wide. There were a couple chances from Jack and Alex in wide areas but nothing troubled the oppositions GK. 0-0 half time.

The second half resumed with much the same tempo, a midfield battle but neither team able to trouble each others defence. As the game progressed Tyler started to go very direct and was unlucky not score on 2 separate occasions. Liam was next to try his luck with a lung bursting run but blasted the ball wide. Just as it looked like the game may end in a draw Fire won a throw-in high up the pitch, a flicked on header saw Liam roll the defender and the ball land at the feet of Ruaridh Wallace who didn’t hesitate and smashed the ball into the roof of the net from close range to seal the win for Raith!

Best of luck to Duloch for the rest of the season, we are sure they will do well.

Aswell as the obligatory POTM awards this week special shout out goes to GK Cammy 🧀 for getting his first clean sheet of the season! First of many πŸ’ͺ🏻⚽️

Well done to all the lads today but the Refs POTM went to Ruaridh Wallace, covered every inch of the park and scored the winning goal.

Coaches player could have went to anyone today but the defence was highlighted as being strong as a rock and in the heart of it big Scotty P winning everything and communicating well.

3 points in the bag πŸ’ͺ🏻

Really entertaining match tonight against Glenrothes Reds at Randolph.

Fire started really well with Alex Mac poking the ball home from a beautiful corner delivered by Tyler. 10 mins later in classic Fire style we lose possession at the back and the Glens managed to nick the ball and round Cammy to make it 1-1. We kept to the task and 2 minutes later Broony pressed the Glens defender hard which caused their own mistake at the back which saw Alex break through on goal and finish calmly into the corner! With a minute to go before half time Fire conceded a free kick out on the far right, the Glens attacker delivered a high looping ball which unfortunately caught us out and nestled right in the far top corner. 2-2 at half time.

The message at halftime was simple be braver in and out of possession. Fire made some changes which had instant success, Cyprus winning the ball in midfield and playing a beautiful through ball to Kenzi who ran direct at goal and slotted past the GK to put us 3-2 up. The boys were now in in control and looking positive, Liam managed to break through the opposition backline only to be brought down for a penalty. Danny stepped up to take but unfortunately smashed the ball over the bar. The Glens did offer some counter attacks but our defence dealt with any pressure that came our way. Kenzi rounded of the scoring with a neat finish to end the game 4-2.
