Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Working Hunter Show yesterday, sponsored by AE HORSE BOX Repairs.
We saw some strong competition across the classes, with many lovely rounds being ridden, and beautiful shows. Everyone presented themselves to such a high standard, which was noted by all.
For some, it was their first ever time competing in a workers show, so a big hats off for giving it a go - we hope you enjoyed it, and will be encouraged to give working hunter classes a go again in the future!
Of course, this encouragement was due to our fabulous judge, Fay Hanson, whom it was an absolute pleasure to meet, and gave positive feedback throughout every class. Thank you Fay, we hope you will come back to CEC to judge for us again! And thank you also to Fays steward, Abbie, who kept the competitors in check throughout the day, keeping the classes flowing.
Big thank you as always to Craig Ellis Photography for working hard to capture all the action - there are so many amazing shots of the day, and being efficient as always, the photos are now available to view and purchase by following this link:

And finally, well done to our Champion, Louise Bielby and Secret Affair, who performed a foot perfect show in the Show Hunter class, and Reserve Champion Andrea Richardson and Kilbrien Dun, who performed brilliantly throughout their classes.

How things can change in one week!
Last week we were setting up our show ground in the blistering heat, battling with dry ground conditions…and this week we were setting up for our Working Hunter Show, sponsored by AE HORSE BOX Repairs, in the torrential rain. Can’t beat the good old British weather!
We have a lovely course set for tomorrow, with no fillers included (see photo) for our 40cm course. Fillers will slowly be added as height increases. Entries accepted on the day - rosettes to 6th place.
We do not have a caterer present tomorrow, but do have the fantastic Cottingham Parks Golf and Leisure Club a stones throw away, serving take out food and drinks.
Schedule for the day as follows:
Class 1 - Mini's Working Hunter - 40cm - No fillers or canter. Lead Rein welcome.
Class 2 - Pre Novice Working Hunter - 50cm - Some fillers
Class 3 - Novice Working Hunter - 60cm
Not before 12:00
Class 4 - M&M Working Hunter - 60cm
Class 5 - Intermediate Working Hunter - 70cm
Class 6 - Open Working Hunter - 80cm
Not before 14:00
Class 7 - Lead Rein Hunter 12.2hh and Under (Open to plaited and natives)
Class 8 - Show Hunter Pony 14.2hh and Under
Class 9 - Show Hunter Horse 14.3hh and Over
Class 10 - Heavyweight Hunter (Must be able to carry over 14 stone)
Championship at end of show. All welcome!
