Medical Incident Update - SIPE ( SWIMMING INDUCED PULMONARY OEDEMA )

Following an incident yesterday we want to share this information with you, we will printing these details on a card which will be ready for all our swimmers to collect free of charge from registration next week.

Unusually our incident was in warm, fresh water with a relatively short swim.

Thankfully the swimmer is ok and now recovering at home.

It is a relatively rare occurrence so carrying these cards to hand to medical personnel is really important for fast and effective treatment.

Please share to raise awareness, crackling breathing, blood tinged sputum and the feeling of drowning when out of the water are all key symptoms of SIPE which requires immediate hospital treatment.

Reminder that lessons return 12th August! 2 weeks break for everyone!

Reminder this is our last week before we break off for 2 weeks!
If any adults fancy a challenge we are holding an event for a cancer support charity this year which involves aqua aerobics, spin and a yoga soundbath not all at the same time 😂 to help raise awareness mainly for pancreatic cancer as my own mother has been through this 3 years ago and thankfully is still clear now! Please read the info below and let me know!

Please be aware ALL parents/guardians need to sign in and out at the reception desk. Moving forward if any student's guardian leaves the premises during lessons their place will no longer be available! This has become an issue that has caused problems across multiple sessions. This is in your sign up sheets and everybody received a reminder with their invoices on this issue. I appreciate it's a 30min session but we have had toilet needs and late collections due to this lately and if heaven forbid an incident happens we NEED an adult to collect the student swiftly!

Please be aware we have had to implement a sign in sign out system. This is due to an incident last week with other school sadly a child was poorly and no parents on site to collect the children! Please make sure at least 1 adult per child is onsite in the cafe area this is in your sign up information! Many thanks

So today was a new twist! I had the privilege of going into a primary school to help spread water safety knowledge to amazing kiddos! I am hoping to deliver some more of these talks in the run up to summer. If anybody knows any other schools that would be interested please let me know.

The pool is open as normal today!!

Sadly the pool is closed today due to chorine issues. We are hopeful it's all back to normal tomorrow. Lesson fees will roll to next month as usual.

This is so alarming how many young souls we have already lost and it's only just the start of the season! With this in mind all this week we will be covering water safety again! Thankfully those that have been asked so far have all been very knowledgeable on it 😍 and know to tell friends no as well!! So proud of all our cubs! If adults want to look at the water safety rescues etc I will try and organise a session Wednesday evening please let me know if this is of interest!
I would also recommend getting the app WHAT THREE WORDS!! It is an amazing free app that tells emergency services your exact location!! Another one is LIGHTNING TRACKER! This is ideal for those that enjoy beach or lake swims.
