Our annual weekend away Indian night with some of the members plus Tony Ralphs huge ice cream from the van that came round the lakes. 🥘🥘🍲🍲🍦🍦

Well, the long weekend away seemed to come and go in a flash. Unfortunately our recent run of great weights didn't continue, unless that is, you count the knockup on the way home at Springvale. Both Float Fish Farm and Decoy both fished disappointingly all round but what a fantastic fishery Springvale is and wonderful people running it and working there. Apologies for rather below our usual standard of hotel but it was close to the venues and best available at the time of booking.

Well the 2026 season just continues to get even better as some impressive weights were caught at Barnburgh lakes on Top Pond. Again, leading the way was the big fella, Will Barlow, weighing in a magnificent 281lb followed not too far behind by Ian Jones with 203lb.
A total of 1333lb of fish was weighed in at an average of over 83lb per angler.

There will be the usual meeting this Thursday in Cross Keys to discuss any issues regarding the forthcoming weekend away

Our latest outing took us to Forest Lane fishery between York and Thirsk fishing Vale lake. Again it was a bumper day and 5 members managed to top the 100lb mark, leading the way again was Will Barlow with a superb bag of carp and barbel for 151lb. A total of 1158lb was netted with 16 anglers averaging over 72lb each.

Our latest match last Sunday took us to the fantastic Lindholme Lakes to fish Bonsai. It was an exceptional match for us with 18 fishing catching over 1200lb of fish with an average of 70lb per angler, and included 5 ton plus weights. The results were as follows:-

With the remnants of storm Amy passing through, and after a lot of rain going into the lakes, it wasn't surprising that the fishing would be a struggle but some still managed some decent weights headed by Ian Ralph for finally a first, well deserved match win with the club.

Last Sundays match saw us at Westlands lakes, Catwick, fishing the Middle Pond. It fished really poor and weights were well below average. Apart from Will, who managed to draw one of the favoured pegs on the arm, it was really tough going for the rest.
