Another nice morning for King’s Lynn parkrun and the 359 runners who took part.
The conditions were almost perfect with a new course record being set and 53 individuals achieving PBs. Well done to you all.
Only 4 new parkrunners with us today but 26 visitors from locations such as Ely, Peterborough, Lincoln and Nottingham, who were all made very welcome.
Well done first time visitor Josh Holman who was first to finish in a course record time of 14.50 and first lady to finish, visitor from Ely, Madeleine Williams who finished in18.44.
The title of Age Graded Hero this week goes to Jane Ashby who finished in 25.23 giving her an absolutely outstanding grading of 100.92%, Jane being followed by Shaun Mann who achieved an impressive grading of 89.00%.
Congratulations Gareth Tigue on his 25th parkrun, Joe Wiggs, Leonie Stimpson, Esther Wale and Michelle Ring all on their 50th, Richard Dickson and Michael Mallett both on their 150th and visitor from Maldon Essex, Claudine Marney on her 350th.
A point to note, anyone taking part in parkrun by default are agreeing to follow the rules. This means accepting that the course is 5km which it is, having been measured by wheel, regardless of what Garmin might say so no point in ducking out to add a few metres on to the watch and messing up the times taken by timekeepers.
Equally the times taken in the funnel match the tokens given at the end so anyone who does not want a time should not enter the finish funnel. It’s all so simple and yet we are always having to check on individuals who cannot get it right and who then leave the core team having to correct the errors caused in the results at the end of the run.
Finally, please be courteous to your fellow runners and to other park users. Our aim is always to have a friendly, safe and successful parkrun but that can only happen if we all play our part in making it so.
