Due to a lack of interest, we’ve made the decision to postpone the Speakers Event to a later date.

We’d also like to pass on our best wishes to Bill Copeland, who is currently unwell. We hope he makes a speedy recovery and we look forward to welcoming him back soon 💙

Anyone who has already paid will be fully reimbursed at Saturday's home game against Drumchapel.

From the terraces to the track…

Born in Tranent, George signed for Hibs while still at school before going on to play for Morton and Stirling Albion.

In 1968, a chance entry into the New Year Sprint changed everything — he quit football and became one of the fastest men in the world on the professional circuit.

Because he’d been a paid footballer, the Olympics were off limits — but George went on to break world records, win the New Year Sprint, and later conquer Australia’s legendary Stawell Gift.

Now a Scottish Sports Hall of Famer, George is a brilliant speaker with cracking stories and great banter.
