MATCH RESULT
Blantyre Albion 2-3 Caledonian Spartans
Hard fought victory today in Bellshill as we faced a well established Championship side. Defensive errors were truly back as both Devenney and Moffat will be having nightmares tonight about their contribution towards the opposition. We will put it down to rustiness and might as well get the mistakes out early doors 😅
Let’s not focus on the negatives and let’s take about the positives! New signing, Lee Ferguson would get our first goal of the match after jinking his way past the left back and firing low across the goalkeeper. The substitutions would make the difference today, as Darren Law would score our second and third goals. Firstly, scoring from close range after some nice wing play by Lee Ferguson, and secondly scoring directly from a free kick after flashing it across goal - it might have been slightly deflected by the defender but we won’t mention that 👀
We battled hard against an extremely stuffy, compact side but we got another 3 points on the board and the winning train continues 🚂

PRESEASON REVIEW
The cobwebs have been wiped off, and the lads have been put through their paces in the last month, all preparing for the new season which begins next Sunday against Southside AFC. New faces have been introduced and settled excellently with many putting ‘Man of the Match’ performances over the course.
The best performance and result came this week against Pollokshields United where we demolished GDSFC Premiership opposition 9-0! We followed the resounding victory today by beating Dennistoun Saints 7-4. Lastly, we will compete in the Callum Moffat derby as we face Saturday side, Busby AFC on Wednesday night to complete our preseason schedule.
We are looking forward to competing in the GDSFC Championship this season against some familiar faces as well as new opposition. Let’s go!

MATCH RESULT
Caledonian Spartans 5-0 Fordbank Star
A highly anticipated matchup that had the richest of rewards. Yesterday’s opponents had the support of our league rivals who were in attendance but swiftly departed before half time, just like 2 weeks previous. Our opponents were no match for our ever present matchday squad that squashed all doubts of a last minute league upset as we fired 3 into the opposition’s net before half time. The pick of the goals arrived midway through the second half as birthday boy, Phil Carvil entered the field of play, rocking his new hairband and doing his best Andrew Pirlo impression with a curling free kick finish from 30 yards, with his first touch! Tony Sawyers tried his best to beat that finish with a delightful lob over the keeper in the last 10 minutes, making it Hawaii 5-0 🏄♂️
A delightful final day of the season rounding off the season beyond our wildest dreams. League and Scottish Cup double secured 🔒 5 goals and a clean sheet. Once again, thank you again to all players that have contributed to our season as well as all our friends and family who supported us from start to finish.
See you next season 🫡

MATCH RESULT
Eddy’s Bar (3) 3-3 (4) Caledonian Spartans
Scottish Cup Champions! Undoubtedly our greatest day in club history. We came into the final as underdogs, as we have for the majority of the cup run but once again, we have proven the doubters wrong.
The game itself was end-to-end which began with ourselves taking the lead after only a few minutes when Andrew MacMillan won a penalty, which Aidan Donaghy converted with perfection. The tables would turn as a quick fire double from the pub team resulted in the Caley Spartans having to come from behind, like they have many times this season. Ewan McIlkenny would equalise the final just before half time when a defensive error allowed the striker to calmly slot away from close range.
The second half started strong but our opponents would win a penalty midway through the half. Despite Ryan Devenney’s best efforts, the number 15 would score from the spot and give the Kirkcaldy fans some hope! Around the 80th minute, some dirty foul play from the opponents number 6 didn’t go missed by the match officials and was immediately sent off for violent conduct. We would certainly take advantage and score a few minutes later when Ryan Armstrong latched onto a low cross at the back post. We continued to push for the winner and came close on several occasions but in fitting fashion, and for the third time in this competition, we found ourselves going to penalties.
Both sides would convert their first two penalties, but the Fife side’s number 15 would decide to replicate his penalty from earlier in the match which was expertly saved by Ryan Devenney. Once again we would convert our next two spot kicks and our opponents had to successfully score their fifth penalty to give them a fighting chance of sudden death but number 14 thought he’d take some inspiration from Gabriel and blaze over the bar ☠️
All seriousness, we are extremely thankful to all our friends and family who came to support us through the whole season and give thanks to our sponsors, Toolbank for all their help in the last two seasons!
