In Memory of Matty Blades ❤️

It is with the heaviest of hearts that Seaton Carew FC shares the devastating news of the passing of one of our coaches, Matty, who tragically lost his life in a fatal accident while carrying out his duties as a police officer.

Matty had only recently joined our club as a coach and was preparing for his first season with our brand-new U7 Seahawks team. He was looking forward to being part of the team and, most importantly, to coaching his own son, who is going to be playing for the Seahawks this season.
Matty and his oldest son are much-loved members of our club and our U10 Lions football family.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Matty’s wife, his two boys, and all of his family and friends at this incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time.
We also stand alongside Matty’s colleagues and friends within the police service, who have tragically lost members of their force.

All club flags are flying at half mast as a sign of respect.

You will always be remembered as one of our own.

💙U12 Blue 7v7 Match Report 💙

What a way for our 7-a-side girls to kick off the season in Cumnock this morning! 💙⚽️

We couldn’t have asked for a better start, with Skye finding the net after just 20 seconds. Erin also got on the scoresheet in the second half with a great reaction finish.

Defensively, the girls were excellent throughout. Faith and Laila were really solid at the back, with Isla also slotting in brilliantly when she moved into defence at the start of the second half. Their organisation, determination and teamwork played a huge part in keeping a well-earned clean sheet. 👏

Jess didn’t have as much to do as she normally does, but she stayed switched on throughout, was in good starting positions when Cumnock did threaten and her distribution from the back was really good.

⭐ Today’s Player of the Match went to Daisy, who was excellent in midfield. She worked tirelessly up and down the park, creating chances going forward while also doing her bit defensively. ⭐️

Chelsey, Mila and Quinn all made really important contributions too, working hard for the team and playing their part in a great all-round performance.

There are still a few things we can keep working on, but there were loads of positives to take from today.

A brilliant start to the season from all ten girls — well done! 👏💙❤️⚽

⚽ Back with a bang this weekend! ⚽

Our U16s played a friendly v Glenburn MWFC Girls - 2011s - U16s on Saturday, some great play from the girls against a tier 1 team 😁 final score 3-2 to Glenburn. Well done girls 👏

Today our U12s and U10s were at the Barony Youth Football Festival in Cumnock, some amazing football on show today girls, be very proud of yourselves 👏💙❤️⚽
