Shortlees Fc

All at Shortlees Fc would like send a massive thank you to Specsavers Kilmarnock for there very kind donation to the club of a Brand New Lining machine with all accessories so we can keep our grass park in tip top condition. Here is a Few pics of us getting the pitch lined after a cut.

As it has been widely publicised Shortlees Teams massively struggle with a Home park to Train on never mind play games on. We are in the process to asset transfer Riccarton Park, a grass park we maintain at the moment but have not been able to play any games on due to no changing facilities on site, an ongoing fight for help to get moduler buildings laid to make the park compliant. even training there without the park being lined is not the best situation for any Team so this kind of Help from the local Specsavers goes a very long way and a lot of steps forward to give the Teams the best possible chance.

We just wish there was more help like it and we could make Riccarton a very good facility for all Shortlees Teams to get the use out of.

10k Run, Done and Dusted.

The boys set about there task very well, Strong start from them all amongst a lot of very seasoned runners. Absolutely superb effort from Liams young Sister Chelsea also running in the 5k Race for Mens Mental Health. The boys finished strong and in great time considering we was a bit late in getting to the start line so preparations were minimal before starting the race.

With Wee Kerr there also on the finish line to cheer them on.

Both Boys raised around the 1800-1900 each for the charities which is amazing in a short space of time.

All at Shortlees, The Boys, My Brother and Sister would like to thank everybody for there Kind donations. It means a lot to all of us.

ARFID is a very serious thing for any child to go through and is definitely not spoken about enough so hopefully we can continue to raise awareness throughout the Season and if anybody at all has any questions or worries do not hesitate to contact us, My Sister in Law would be happy to share her experience to help others.

Tomorrow night Boys from My Shortlees 2012 Team run a 10k for 2 Special Charities for 2 very special reasons.

1st one is for Ayrshire Cancer Support. For our Midfielder Blair Morton running for the Memory of his Mum who he sadly lost to Breast Cancer, he is a Fantastic Boy on and off the park and has went from strength to strength since joining with some incredible goals.

2nd one is Very Special to myself, ARFID Autism for my wonderful young nephew Kerr, his brother Jack who plays in the Team also is running for his young brother. Kerr has faced massive challenges since being diagnosed to be honest with a form of Autism that we as a family didnt no much about or isnt spoke or taught enough about. With Wee Kerr now having his feeding tube fitted he has made some significant improvements but still a mountain to climb with his mum and dad overcame so much to this point and still learning more and more each day.

My Team as spoken about before will wear the ARFID symbol on our new strips this year and will post as many updates as we can on Kerr to hopefully get the word out more on ARFID to hopefully help other parents that maybe haven't picked up or scared to ask for any help with there own child.

Also running we have our Captain, Kyle, Midfielders Junior, Liam and Tyler

These young boys have taken it upon themselves to do this and support both Charities, very rare to get young boys like this these days and for me as there coach couldn't be more proud of them.

So I ask, anybody, no matter how small a donation but if you can help at all to push there totals up before the run tomorrow night then please do so. They have raised a great amount already but a believe we can do better.
