Kettering Golf Club - A very special occasion.

Yesterday was an unusual day. A day when a combination of events resulted in a “Lock in” the clubhouse. Due to an enforced police closure of the access bridge to KGC over the A14.
Golfers were “trapped” and not able to go home for over five hours.

“What shall we do?”

Let’s celebrate the 90th birthday of an outstanding individual. Who defies many of life’s usual outcomes!

Together with his proud “Golfing Group - The Penguins”.

90 years old,
70+years a member of Kettering golf club,a life long honoury member and still only a handicap of 10.

What a day. What a man!

Kettering Golf Club - Ladies Invitation Day 2026.

Another very hot day.
And a very well supported event.

An 18 hole Stableford competition in teams of 4.

In First place with an excellent score of 88 points.
Club members (and Directors):- Amanda Campbell and Sue Mobbs. Supported by guests:- Gill and Denise.

The success of an event such as this doesn’t happen by accident.
Our sincere thanks go out to Jason Hazelton and his team of Louise, Emily, Verity and Finn.
Plus, not forgetting volunteers- Jane, Yvonne, Connie and Doug.

And to “make the day compete”. Said a delighted Ladies Cathy Kemp.
“Thanks to everyone for contributing to a charitable donation, raffle of £180 towards the Air Ambulance”

Kettering Golf Club - Anderson Cup Winner 2026.

Last Saturday the 8th of August was the date.
It was another hot, hot day.

And a group of Ladies competed for this prestigious - 36 hole competition. Wow! What an effort!

Congratulations to the winner - Carol Pennington.
Who shot (nett scores) 74 and 75.

Kettering Golf Club - Annual Presidents Day

We must not forget to pay tribute to our President for the last six years -
Take a bow Steve Drage.
The perfect personality for the position and who will be very difficult to replace when his tenure is complete.

Today was his day - And you will not be surprised to learn that he spent all day (from 7:00am in the morning) cooking and serving food on a “pop up” half way house.

Finishing up by hosting the evening presentations in the Clubhouse.

130 members took part in the 18 hole stableford competition.

An end of season focus on our Handicap Team.

Yesterday saw the “last match of the season” end with a fine win for Kettering at Kingsthorpe. 17 holes to 10 holes.

Team Captain Craig Abbott was delighted with the outcome on what has a very tough season for him personally and the team.

“I am very proud of this set of golfers for always being available for me. Even though at times I have been unable to be there”

“Outstanding Commitment - and very much appreciated”.
